I left at half (again) and heard it as I was walking out. So we’re promoting obesity now? Seems fitting for the fattest state in the country.

I was unaware that Miss Mississippi Plus America was a thing.🤷🏻‍♂️

Is there a weight limit? Like.. you're too skinny so you can't compete?

Maybe we should play in a low talent football league. Say like.. you can't run under a 5.0 40 or have a BMI less than 25.

This kinda stuff is how fat girls get overconfident and start making fellas work for it because they think they're hot shìt. I feel bad for my boys. If the fat girls get all high and mighty they may never know the character building experience every young man should go through... Taking one for the team.

Sprint football. Nobody over 183 lbs is allowed to play. I think it's still a varsity sport at some of the Ivy league schools and service academies.

It would be the ultimate irony for SPS to become a board dedicated to cheering on a team full of players the size of our average left hind quarters.

ETA. Do I hear cowbells in that video?

Its a whole nationwide pageant. Not just Mississippi.
It's one thing to have it, it's another thing for a state university to actually celebrate it. I've got no problem with big girls organizing a pageant where they think they can compete. If it existed, I'd definitely like to compete in a basketball league where nobody's vertical is over two feet and I hope nobody would begrudge me that. But I also wouldn't expect to get honored at halftime of an MSU game for doing well in it.

But even more so if it promoted unhealthy habits. There are probably a few exceptions of girls that are actually just built big, but I would assume for the vast majority of the participants, the most important health goal they could have would be to get to where they no longer qualify to be in the event. A university shouldn't be promoting things like that.

I know nothing of it besides she was honored. Maybe she’s an MSU student?

When I was in Jr College, I was part of a Chrisitan organization that sponsored someone in the Miss Community College Pageant. A few guys recommend a bigger girl because she was a great girl with a good heart that loved Jesus. The director vetoed them and said boys if we put that product out, we will have no guy wanting to follow the Lord on this campus. Some of the best wisdom I have heard.
