Pedestrian? I guess. They are also missing a space making offensive weapon, Dallas Goedert. Let’s see how pedestrian it is then.
Watch that first Dallas game. The threat of Hurts running totally changes how a defense plays them. Lose that and the offense isn’t nearly as effective.

The Birds are having a nice season, but the Niners are a better team, and will take them down if they meet in the postseason.
I like the Eagles against a more traditional QB like Purdy. Their defensive line will be unlike anything Brock has seen in his handful of NFL starts. The Philly home environment too.

The environment at the Linc is nothing to sneeze at. It's a nice advantage to have. I was at the Linc in Fall 2021 when the Niners beat them handily.

This is obviously a different season, but the Eagles have struggled of late with a couple of teams. The Bears? Really? The Niners are crushing everyone in sight. Purdy has been fantastic. But it is nevertheless true that he's green as goose poop, The Eagles will have severe difficulty scoring against the Niners' defense, which is top rated in the NFL is most every defensive catgegory.

Niners suck. Their division is garbage.

Total Points Allowed, NFC:
Niners #1 (210)
Eagles #2 (268)

Rushing Yards Allowed, NFC:
Niners #1 (1046)
Eagles #7 (1695)

Passing Yards Allowed, NFC:
Eagles #1 (2414)
Niners #8 (2960)

Total Yards Allowed, NFC:
Niners #1 (4006)
Eagles #2 (4109)

It's basically a push, with no clear advantage to either team.

This is obviously a different season, but the Eagles have struggled of late with a couple of teams.

12/18: Birds over the Bears, 25-20
12/11: Birds over the Giants, 48-22
12/4: Birds over the Titans, 35-10
11/27: Birds over the Packers, 40-33
11/20: Birds over the Colts, 17-16
11/14: Commanders over the Birds, 32-21

I think you're stretching things a bit. The Birds didn't struggle with the Giants, or with the Titans. They had a bit of a struggle with the Packers, but not as much as the score indicates. They did struggle with the Colts, but executed when they needed to. Against the Commanders, they had more turnovers than usual (two in an unusual manner), and injuries to their DL exposed a weakness against the run which they have since addressed.

The Birds are having a nice season, but the Niners are a better team, and will take them down if they meet in the postseason.

It's easy to speculate, but I don't think there's much data to prove your contention.

The Niners weren’t world beaters on Thursday against a garbage Seattle team. It goes both ways.

@LafayetteBear The 9ers rush defense is great. There’s no way around that. REALLY great. Their Pass defense is good. Just good. And their pressure numbers are great with bosa but the eagles are leading the league in sacks by 6

I think an eagles 9ers game would be strength on strength. D on D. In that instance who’s O would you trust more? To me, it’s TE: slight 9ers (barely) RB: slight 9ers (barely) WR: eagles (a good bit) OL: eagles (by far) QB: eagles (a lot)

and I think the eagles have played a comp to SFs D in the cowboys.

I think it would be a great game and one where I think home field could turn the tide but I don’t think it’s decided by more than 3

The played in Seattle, where the noise factor (due in part to a stadium that is partially enclosed) is deafening. A tough but good learning experience for a rookie QB. Still, they won by, what? ten or eleven points, ending the game taking kneel downs at the Seattle 1 yard line.

Don't get me wrong. The Eagles are good. Very good. The definitely have the edge over the Niners at OL and, as good as Brock Purdy is playing, you have to give a clear edge to Hurts at QB. I think the collection of skill players (e.g., TE, RB, FB, and WR) surrounding Purdy is better than the collection of skill players surrounding Hurts. The trade for McCaffrey really helped. If Deebo comes back in time for the playoffs, they provide a formidable duo. The Niners are once again leading the league in YAC.

Defense, however, is where these two teams really shine. If they match up in the playoffs, it will be interesting to see how Hurts and Purdy deal with the kind of pressure they are likely to face. That game could well be a low scoring game.

Looks like Hurts sprained his shoulder when he was slow to get up yesterday. He’s now a doubt for their biggest game of the year on Saturday.

This is what happens when you have a coaching staff that allows their MVP QB to carry the ball 17 times in week 15. Hurts is on pace to set the all time record for QB runs. Not good.

The question now becomes can Minshew win you 1 of the last 3 games. If yes, that locks the #1 seed and Hurts doesn’t see another snap till the postseason.

It won’t happen, but how funny would it be for Philly to sit most of their starters on Saturday in Dallas? Treat it like a preseason game and then beat the Saints the next week with a healthy Hurts to lock up the division and bye.

Or minshew starts and they still blow out the cowboys. Granted that would play right into the parsons comments on the hurts MVP talk.

Minshew starts against Dallas and has a dominating performance. Hurts never plays another down in an Iggles uniform.

The Bears beat the 49ers. So did Atl. “Crushing everyone”? Seattle 21-13, last week. Check yourself.

Any games either team lost early in the season don't mean much. What will matter come playoff time is how each team is playing then. The Niners have won seven games in a row. The eagles? Five in a row. Let's hope that Hurts and Samuel both come back at full strength for the playoffs.
