OK, this 49ers fumble brings up a good point...even the 4th string QB is supposedly one of the best in the world. I understand why it leads to something like a significantly lower completion % or more sacks or more interceptions, but it never made sense to me why such a player wouldn't even be able to catch a snap consistently. 
That's the weird part...this particular one wasn't forced. One of the best football players in the world just couldn't catch a snap...very strange, at the NFL level, not sure what "4th string" has to do with catching a snap.
