Interesting stat lines from the game. Baltimore significantly outshined the Eagles even before the garbage TD. Same with TOP and first downs. The Eagles D made some huge stops when needed.
But the Eagles were 2 for 3 in red zone TDs and Baltimore missed three kicks. It’s nice to see a clean performance in a big road game. For some time, it felt like the other way around.
The schedule is favorable now. Anyone know how the playoff seeding tie breakers project? The Eagles need the Packers to beat the Lions, I think.
part of the yardage deal was Baltimore had an extra long field several times thanks to the Eagles punting.
and funny you bring up the playoffs, from the PI this am.....
There is only one path where the Eagles would win a tiebreaker against the Lions with a 15-2 record — win out and root for Detroit to lose against an NFC team. In that scenario, the Eagles would win the tiebreaker based on having a better conference record.
If the Eagles and Lions end the season tied with an identical conference record, the next tiebreaker would be their respective records against common opponents. In that scenario, the Lions would need to lose to the Green Bay Packers (9-3) in Week 14 on
Thursday Night Football for the Birds to win that tiebreaker.
Otherwise, the Eagles will need the Lions to lose at least two games to have a realistic shot at overtaking Detroit and securing the NFC’s top playoff spot.
The Eagles’ magic number to clinch the playoffs is now two. After that, it’s all up in the air, thanks to a tight NFC playoff race and the Washington Commanders (8-5) remaining in contention for the NFC East.
If the playoffs started today, the Eagles would have the No. 2 seed and host the Commanders at the Linc in the wild-card round.
