My comment was thst you have to then apply it to other leaders of indutry...in other industries.
So if you then criticize leaders in any industry, your comment can apply to you.

It's a pretty absurd agrument for you to make, and you still don't even see why.
Don't have much of an opinion on the topic but thought this would make for a good song lyric.

Anyone else have a little Vertical Horizon run through their head when they read this?

This, just like your initial post that started the thread, is incorrect.
And this goes right back to what I stated in an earlier post in response to the claim that Musk has cleaned up lies and fake info on Twitter.

What the left picture actually is, is an HSR 'Bridge to Nowhere' and itt did not cost $100billion to build. The Tweet is straight up wrong. The Tweet is misinformation and does a disservice to society.

And what is so wild is that if the Tweet just used the actual numbers and used real info about what is in the picture, people would still be outraged at the cost. There is no need to post the lie, yet they did.
Its a damn shame because so often, the truth is more than enough to show something is bad, yet lies are told instead.

@tbaydog - do you ever google what you scroll thru on X before posting it here? I would think 90% of the fake and misinformed Twitter posts that you slap onto SPS would be shown to be false within the first few google results.

And the same could be said about folks on the right ready to fellate him and anything he puts his name and/or money into because he started supporting Trump.
Except for they didn't dislike him at this level before. I can ride with your fan boy comment about the right but you have to at least acknowledge the petty hypocrisy of the left towards Elon....kind of like their relationship with Democrat Trump and Republican Trump or Reagan etc. I get it it's human nature to pull for your team but you can't sweep the past under the rug....right?

I don't think the left really loved any of those guys the way you're describing and definitely not the way the right loves them now*. I know I never did. I just don't get this fascination and white-knighting for billionaires.

*(Except Reagan. Somewhere along the line, some of you started having a really negative feeling towards him and started rooting for his greatest adversary.)

I wrote a longer and more thought out version of this, but I'll save everybody the headache unless they want to click and read it. Actually, please skip it. I already regret not avoiding this thread.

I’m not sure what the relation is to what I said, but here goes.

I was born in 1980. I have zero recollection of Democrat Reagan. I have heard such a thing existed, but Republican Reagan is the only one I remember and I actually have a fondness for Republican Reagan. I understand why people supported Republican Reagan. I can’t really speak to the left’s relationship with Reagan previous to the 1980’s.

I don’t remember Donald Trump being super political until Obama became president and Trump became birther in chief. I think I remember him saying Bush II was a bad president on Howard Stern once, but it wasn't like he was out stumping for Kerry or speaking at the DNC. Trump has always been an аsshole and a piece of sнit, regardless of who he donated to or supported politically. I don't remember the left being in love with him when he was a supposed Democrat the way the right is in love with him now.

As far as Elon, I know there are folks on the left that have been Elon fans at one point, probably due largely to the amount he invested in EV's. I've never been one of them personally, likely because I have a natural aversion to billionaires and I had heard enough of him in interviews to know he's a jackаss. In any case, I don't remember a lot of the left white-knighting for Elon the way the right has (this thread being a pure example). That's not to say the left is incapable of white-knighting as we most certainly are. I've just never seen anyone on the left white-knight for Elon Musk the way I'm seeing it in this thread. Weird nerds maybe, not your general run of the mill left-leaner.

Somewhere along the line, the right has really taken a Peter Thiel approach to the world and it's actually a little scary. It's also kind of funny because I remember when Obama supporters (like me) were accused of demagoguery because Obama was supposedly nothing more than a cult of personality that we were all blindly following. The irony looking back at the people saying that is blinding. Now, it's like you guys see these ineffectual billionaires as some kind of strongman beacons of hope and I just don't get it.

And no, I don't trust 17ing George "The Boogeyman" Soros either.
