Not at a wedding but early in Terry Bradshaw's career with the Steelers, when he was married to JoJo Starbuck(Olympic figure skater), he was a member of the Pittsburgh Dachshund Club and showed up at a picnic with a miniature doxy in his shirt pocket.
An aside about Terry Bradshaw...when he was in college at Louisiana Tech and a football star, he got involved in a "Win A Date With Terry Bradshaw" promotion. The girl who won was a classmate of mine at Valparaiso U in the early 70's, and we discussed that supervised "date." Anyway, Terry B. didn't have the best luck in marriage, and this girl became a lesbian and a lawyer specializing in representing women in "non-friendly" divorces. I've often wondered if those facts were at all related?

I went to a wedding today for the son of one of my best friends. I expected to only know my buddy’s immediate family. My wife was looking at the seating chart showing who is sitting at each table, and points out a familiar name… Joe Montana. Looking through the entire list I we had someone listed as “Aunt Dirty”, who was actually at our table. it turned out not to be the famous Joe Montana, but my wife said that Aunt Dirty was quite the character.

It got me thinking about whether I would have gone up and spoke to Joe Montana or some other celebrity. I’ve never been an autograph guy, and am rather introverted as well, so I doubt I would have. Aim interested in hearing about any of you all who may have met someone famous at a wedding?
Do professional fishermen that have had TV shows count? 🤣

Not a wedding but in mid 90’s was vacationing in Virginia Beach. Worked out at a great gym there. Saw Terry Killens and Darren Perry both of whom were in NFL at that point. Talked a little with Perry. He was super nice. Bruce Smith (Bills HOFer) was in there my last day. Big dude and intimidating to look at. Didn’t talk to him but got a “hey” nod from him at the water fountain 😊. I think they were all from that area

Not my story: a distant acquaintance of mine grew up with billy crystal. Got invited to his kid’s wedding. Robin Williams was there and sat at their table. Friend tells that williams was never “off” the entire night. Everything was an opportunity for him to entertain, joke, or just be wacky. The next morning they go down to the restaurant for breakfast and Williams is still up. Sees them, proceeds to sit, and is on full speed comedic mode for the entire breakfast. They go to leave and he just moved on to the next group and keeps going. While he was funny, acquaintance says it was getting to be too much, the guy just couldn’t stop being “on.”

Bobby Tucker (Giants, Vikings TE) Wife’s cousin’s wedding reception in Hazleton circa early 80’s. He spent whole evening hitting on my wife.

I was a kid (around 10) and diehard Mets fan, but I met all the famous mid-1970s NY Yankees including Thurman Munson, Gregg Nettles, Ron Guidry, Catfish Hunter, Lou Piniella, Willie Randolph, and Chris Chambliss. All I can remember, 45 years later, is that they were all very nice.

I suspect the way to turn Robin Williams off was to hide the cocaine.

I was at a Yankees game in 1981, there was a relatively small crowd. Sitting next to me was a young Tom Hanks. I recognized him from a TV show he was on at the time, the one where he dressed as a woman. But I do not believe he was truly famous at the time; or, if he was, I was not aware. I was impressed with how "normal" he was and how down to earth. He was enjoying the game, clearly enjoyed baseball and seemed fairly knowledgeable, and was friendly. I hope he has not changed.
I sat behind Tom Hanks and Yacov Smirnov on Phil Rizzuto day. We were by Steinbrenner's suite with a bunch of NY's finest close by. Pagliarulo hits two dingers, Hanks high-fives me and spills beer all over my feet on the second one. During the 7th inning stretch, they put a message up on the big board "The Yankees welcome Tom Hanks to today's game" and show Tom waving. He then stands up and says 'Who me?" Within 10 seconds, we are mobbed by kids and the boys in blue circle us for the last two innings.

I was at a wedding a few years back that then Governor Tom Ridge attended along with a Pa State Trooper protection detail. Ridge was a hell of a nice guy. I remember talking to him for a good ten to fifteen minutes. My father in law interrupted our conversation to tell Ridge I was a Democrat. Ridge smiled and said "That's okay. My father was a Democrat." I kinda felt sorry for the bride because Ridge stole a lot of her attention.

John Stanfa was at a wedding I was at in the late 1980s or early 1990s. I only knew it was him because I saw his photo in the newspaper a couple of weeks later.

I had sex with Margaret Trudeau.

I shared a plane with Peter Graves, Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Barbara Billingsley.

I once pissed next to John Wayne.
Did Barbara Billingsley have to translate to the flight attendant for you and your friend?

My BIL is a former elementary school principal and he described once a former pupil as being incapable of fluent social interactions, “he’s another Robin Williams, can’t help but piss off people.”

I did once. Was helping the DJ do a wedding/ Wedding reception for one of Luther Vandross' backup singers. Luther came, but did not sing. We had extra mics set up just in case.

I was best man for one of my Penn State roommates when he married his wife at her home in Fairfax, VA. Her father was a big deal in the FBI and years later I learned that one of the guests at the wedding was an FBI official named Mark Felt. He was better known later as Deep Throat, the informant who fed Woodward and Bernstein of the Washington Post inside information about the watergate conspiracy. Also at the wedding was the bride's younger brother, who much later went on to fame as Tim Gunn, the host of Project Runway.

At my own wedding, my wife asked me to invite one of her law clients and close friends to be an usher, so figure skater Scott Hamilton served as an usher. After the wedding our suite was packed with family (and Scott), so he gave me the keys to his room where my wife and I spent the night there rather than kick everyone out of our suite.

Ok I thought of something. I was playing a gig once with Halestorm and the singer Lzzy Hale was like 14 years old, running around the bar in a wedding dress screaming the whole time.

Man they were so annoying back then. But look who has a Grammy and an Atlantic Records contract. Not ol' Showtime!
