For those complaining about fake injuries, I hope you were watching the Bama game.

While subbing on defense, a Bama coach literally shoved a player onto the field where he fell 2 yards in and pretended to be injured.

It was funny.

They got a substitution penalty because I'm not sure if he was the 11th or 12th guy.

This is why I say this ''fake injury'' stuff can be stopped - if the coaches want it stopped.
The Head Coaches should put a stop to it, or they are complicit.
This tweet coming from a Mississippi fan calling any other team out about faking an injury is just buffoonery.

I think they should do what Soccer does and show the flopper a red card and make the team play with ten men instead of eleven. That would put an end of all of these artificial timeouts.

Agreed.

But they could have stopped (or severely slowed) the paying of players back when they were "amatuers". But it's in the coaches best interest to turn a blind eye.

Yes, this is the kind of thing that's out of control.

Some folks are saying it's no biggie b/c fake injuries have always been around. But never like this and not to the degree it's happening.

And, yes to the post above, this is a very non-Bama thing to do. Bama fans are not used to resorting to cheap tricks to win.

Something's going to be done. The issue has grown to the point where corrective response is imperative.

If a rule can be put in place to address intentional penalties mid season, a rule can be put in place to address fake injuries mid season. This is beyond out of control. Every announcer in every game I watched this weekend talked about the fake injuries problem.

It is still the easiest problem to address in all of college football. Make the "injured" player have to sit out until after a change of possession.

If coaches really want to do it, they'll sub in reserve players to fake an injury since it won't hurt for them to miss the rest of the series.

That would be hard to do to stop a team that was driving and not substituting and would be sort of dumb to do to put in a sub for a play just to fake an injury. What if the sub gets burned and the other team scores because you took out a starter to bring in a "designated injured player"?

Sub comes onto and fakes an injury stopping play, so no play occurs.

The refs wouldnt let him substitute personnel. And with TN running the hurry up and spreading WR's on the edges of field, i would have done the same thing in Alabama's postion.

You saw the Bama fake injury, right?
Yeah, that wasn't a case of trying to stop the clock to slow momentum. Bama was discombobulated on their substitutions and couldn't get the right players on the field.

I was on the road sat aft and was listening to Bama radio broadcast on Sirius and their radio guy was go ping on and on about fake injuries then the play in question occurred.Hilarious hearing them back pedal and finally admit it was a terrible look for Bama

I watched this live and it's not exactly how it looked. Yes, he had the player go fake an injury to stop play but he had a valid reason. He thought the refs should have allowed a defensive substitution but they didn't hold up the play so he basically stopped the play himself. They even brought in the rules expert to discuss after it happened.

I dont know how they are going to fix this. I say let the play continue like chariot races. Have the stretchers ready and on standby.
