Amazing how small the world can truly be at times . Unfortunately a few posters here directly affected . My daughter’s co-worker skated with a lot of these competitors growing up and knew some of the coaches . She is obviously devastated . Prayers to all .
Yeah, when this first happened I immediately thought of two friend’s of ours whose daughters are big time skaters in VA. They are good friends of my daughter’s too - luckily, they were not on board, but they were friends with the girls who died and also knew the coaches well. They’re attending two funerals this week. One said she may give up skating despite being ranked nationally. So sad.
Update: Found out I do know someone who died in the crash; Olivia Ter and her mother. Anne Valerie Ter, daughter/sister, takes piano lessons from the same teacher as my daughter and I've seen/spoken to them at recitals. Ann Valerie is a bit of a prodigy and now she lost her mother and little sister.
