Franklin goes through ALOT more offensive coordinators than defensive coordinators which makes me think his (Franklin's) involvement in the offense is part of the issue. With the average tenure of an offensive coordinator under Franklin, not sure if any established coordinator would be interested unless they enter it knowing it's a short term arrangement.

Was Moorhead great or just have a generational back and NFL skill people everywhere to work with? maybe somewhere in-between.
Although lauded for his explosive plays, the number of times the QB/RB seemed to get tackled at the mesh point for a loss or no gain seemed a significant issue. Of course maybe the oline issues at the time had something to do with that.

I'm shocked to learn that Franklin sacrificed another coordinator in order to deflect attention away from himself.

Let's visit the wayback machine and reread some headlines and comments from January 2021 after Franklin hired Yurcich. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

"We are excited to have Mike join our staff," continued Franklin. "He is an impressive offensive mind and talented play caller who has set records everywhere he has been as an offensive coordinator. I look forward to seeing what he can do with all of the offensive weapons we have here at Penn State. I have followed Mike's career for a long time, dating back to his time in the PSAC at Shippensburg and Edinboro. We look forward to bringing Mike and his family back to Pennsylvania."

Giger: Yurcich hiring will keep Franklin off hot seat

"It's going to be back to who we were the previous three or four years," Franklin said. "It's going to be spread, it's going to be tempo, there's going to be an emphasis on explosive plays. Obviously we're still working through all those types of things, but me and Mike have been talking for a long time, and we're on the same page in what we want to do and how we want to do it. And Mike has lived in that world."

Poor Jimmy, feeling the heat. That thin skin can’t take it.

So much for “family”. I wonder what that 5 star QB who was recruited by Yurcich is thinking? You know, he has options too.

Panic on the sidelines and panic in his office. You can smell the fear in State College coming from the Lasch Building.

I wonder how much they are paying Yurcich not to talk to the press?

CJF was a WR coach in the NFL and is on his 5th WR coach as well. Coincidence?

Last name starts with an M? I guess we should pursue McDaniels then... :)
who was the guy they were interested in when the MY was hired? I thought there was a guy who had been a GA at Penn State and had been QB coach at LSU helping Burrow.

overall the play calling in some games have not helped the QBs. The RBs being hit in the backfield has been going on for years long before MY. That is one of the reasons the JF offense needs QB who can also run.

The in-game decisions = not kicking PATs and going on 4th and 6 at your own 30 were killers. Not sure we can put that on MY. The same in-game 4th down call at tOSU killed any chance we had.

What pathetic move to make it look like we are serious about football. Fire Big Game James or accept that we will never be a top tier program until he is gone. James is the only one that could get out coached by a team with out a coach.

You're thinking of Joe Brady and his star has dimmed. Currently the QB coach for the Bills and there's a good chance he'll be available some time soon.
