The amount of $$ they have left is directly dependent on how much they want to spend. It's literally not an issue. On the day they planned to fire Jimbo, the AD met the chairman of the 12th Man Foundation (A&M AD fundraising arm) on the 50 yard line at halftime to accept a $160M check. That was a message. Don't worry about the buyout, don't worry about the next contract. We got it covered. Unreal.
Think the buyout will have a little more scrutiny this time around?

No. These people are psychos. They are desperate with UT/OU coming to the SEC. They'll do whatever necessary to land a big splash guy.

I've got an outside the box thought process though. What about Dabo? I'm not convinced Dabo is as against paying players as he lets on. Follow me here. Dabo needs Clem to be perceived as a national power. He knows they can't compete with OSU, OU, Bama, FSU, LSU, etc... in terms of NIL. But he can't admit that. He needs people believing they're on equal footing in every way, but they're not. He's able to hide behind his personal beliefs a little to mask that huge discrepancy. But at some point it's going to run out. He's not going to let something like that tarnish HIS legacy. I think he made that clear in his Tylerrrrr call. That's really all he cares about. A&M is a perfect scenario for him. Clearly he knows how to build a championship program. He would have no limitations whatsoever at A&M. We've all jokingly called him a cult leader...what better place than that group of weirdos in College Station?

They should send 3 blank checks out with a note "See you Monday morning". Whoever shows up first gets the job:

How old is he?
Until he proves himself too old to win a national championship at a 3rd school, he's young enough.

If he wins a national championship at A&M and then retires again after 5 years, he will have accomplished more than any other coach in A&M's post-WW2 history.

The older he is, the less of a window he has to do what you suggest. We've seen that around here.

A&M is not a championship caliber program. That much is resoundingly clear.

Meyer would make them one.

That's not resoundingly clear, although I don't blame a person for propounding that. He's 59, but the two places he won national championships had won before. You have already hammered home the futility of A&M football.
