SEC men's Basketball teams are 63-7 so far this season. It is early but the league is as deep as I have seen in a long time!

Yeah people need to be prepared for the possibility that we are a better team than last year but not much different record-wise.

The good news is we replaced second games against Auburn and Kentucky from last year with Texas and Oklahoma which should be more winnable games. We just don’t have many breaks.

ESPN BPI has us going 9-9 in SEC but there are a ton of games in that which are basically 50/50 toss ups.

I don't see us winning many SEC road games this year, but we might be able to take care of home court this year vs anyone.

Some random data analysis...

MSU is predicted to end with the 40th most difficult schedule, per Warren Nolan...sos rpi.

He also predicts MSU will finish 8th at 10-8 in conference.

He shows the SEC as the most difficult conference so far.

We haven't made the 2nd weekend of the tournament in 28 years. For me, I couldn't care less about a 9-9 or 10-8 conference record. Nobody remembers those. Just get in the tournament and win 2 games and it'll be a successful season.

Vandy, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Georgia I think are winnable road games. We won’t win all of them but we’ll have a chance in each.

Prepare to take L’s at Bama, Auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas.

The big home games will be key for us. Kentucky, Bama, Florida, Texas, A&M, I guess OM if you wanna count them. Need to do some damage on our home court in those games.

This ball team is good, guys. They are mentally tough, aren't going to be intimidated in any road environment, and they're going to play like MEN!
They have not yet shown us the level of defensive intensity they are capable of. Trust the plan of JANS!
They're getting at least 12 conference wins this year. Enjoy the whole show.
Then enjoy the Dance!

A 9-9 SEC record is comfortably in the NCAA tournament.

That's why we need to defend our home court. Everyone's losing games on the road. To have a good season, you have to win 7 to 9 home games.

That matters because that gets you comfortably in the tourney.

9-9 is comfortably in the tournament as an 8 seed.... a seed that is one of the toughest to get to the second weekend at.

There was nothing more mezmerizing to me as a kid back in the 70's than a Soul Train step line. And that sorta still holds up today. There were some foxy ladies on that show.

Also, I think that's where Fred 'Rerun' Berry got his start popping and locking, before his legendary role. Those of you who don't know what I'm talking about... I'm sorry you missed out growing up in the real greatest generation.
