Look at Beamer. He was well below a middle of the pack hire. In fact, no other team was hiring him as a head coach anytime soon. Maybe Tanner got lucky but that's what it's going to take in basketball. I like Paris and am hopeful it works out but I'll be the first to admit the jury is still out. I will continue to pull for him and attend games and support the team.

Moaning and groaning about a first year coach in a sport in which we have had very little success is pointless.

There were important ppl who had Beamer in mind as a future coach. I know it looks like a random hire, but he had prior experience here.

Your point is valid, but I don’t get how Bama, Auburn, UGA, Miss State have all landed more proven coaches in recent years.
