I knew I wouldn't appreciate it, so didn't bother to watch. Went and got stuff cleaned up and the kids in bed while halftime was on. Not my style music or my style performance.

But I give Bruno Mars and Beyonce credit...At least they have talent.
Beyonce's talent is she's pretty and can dance a little in heels. The wife wanted to watch the Grammys. It's not much more than a dance contest anymore. The OP mentioned Stapleton was used as a smokescreen in the Soper Bowl. He was used the same way by the Grammys. I've seen Stapleton live and on TV. I swear if I didn't know the National Anthem I wouldn't know what he was saying. He a mumbler.

Not an act that I enjoy. But I'm an old guy and the NFL targets a younger audience.

I feel like my parents, though. I remember sitting with my family watching the Ed Sullivan show in 1964 when the Beatles debuted. My dad shook his head and said "that band will never catch on."

To be trash. Trying to Watch with a 6 & 10 year old and Rhianna licks her palm and rubs her crotch like the orgy is on. Turned it off immediately but too late. Now get to answer the questions. I just remembered why I hate the NFL. Chris Stapleton singing the anthem was to lure us in to think maybe we can watch as a family. Halftime as usual washed that away. I blame myself for not learning a lesson over countless years of this crap
I agree I haven't seen a half time show in years that really had any family value entertainment qualities.

He does have a point though. Setting aside the taste in music, it tells a lot about the decline when we point out that Elvis shaking his hips used to be shocking.

I
n order to continually one up the last guy, we've sunk lower and lower.
This is exactly to my point, and what I have pointed out, what our parents found shocking we celebrated in that fact.
Now younger artists are doing the same thing, and our generation grows older we are voicing the same complaints.

I just watched it on YouTube. I like some of Rihanna’s songs that come on the radio. But that halftime show was a dud.
I stopped watching the NFL years ago. Don’t miss it a bit.

I disagree about Chris Stapleton...He's one of the best out there....I especially like music from The Steeldrivers.

I was thinking about that last night. We should go back to doing nothing. I would rather see the camp legune commercials.
I looked back and the early Super Bowls featured bands from Grambling,Southern and Florida A&M.I'd take that again.Heck, back in the early SB days the pro teams had their own marching bands.I remember the Redskins,Colts, and Chiefs specifically.

Right…. What do we expect from generations? Who now think a man showering in a little girls shower is appropriate if that man thinks it is.
Yeah and if the Eagles want to be identified as Superbowl champs we have to acknowledge them in that way

Why did the teams/players just find out about the grass last night? Both teams had to be practicing on it all week.
Freddie, they used alternate practice facilities.
The Chiefs will practice throughout the week at Arizona State's football facilities while the Eagles will do their preparation at the Arizona Cardinals' practice facility.

The best mumbler I ever heard. To each his own. I really cannot understand him. But yes, his music is good.
As good as this guy?

Yes, I see that. My comment, and I believe his, is that artists are pushed to further depths to be shocking now. It's not a good thing.

I only had it on to catch a couple movie trailers and still missed them as I was playing swtor. I did catch a little of the halftime show and the end of the game. She didn’t do to bad considering she is pregnant.she couldn’t do do much.

That was terrible. Honestly I didn’t even know she was still alive. Been a minute since she’s done anything. Bruno Mars was the best since prince. Super talented and puts on a hell of a show. Will we ever get a country performance again?
Remember Bruno as well. One of the best performances I have witnessed.

Yeah. I honestly thought I was going to hate it. Bruno Mars isn't exactly on my playlist. But it was awesome. I don't need to see something that's in my lane. I just want to see a good performance. Something entertaining. Rihanna wasn't that. They could have just turned the lights off and played her music videos on the board and it probably would have been better.

Sidenote, I had no idea they don't get paid.

I missed the Lady G's victory over LSU ... I watched the first half before the SB and watched the second half during HT and the first 5 minutes of the second half ... I just want to watch the game ...

Yeah, I peeked over at an investment site I'm on tonight. Some of those guys loved it. To each his own, I guess. I'm old enough that I loved Carly Simon, Carole King, James Taylor, Roberta Flack, the late Donna Summer and such. They are more my style. Heck, they showed Paul McCartney in the stands at the game. If they had pulled him out of the stands to perform, even without rehearsals, I would have gladly watched him, as I did at Winston-Salem last Spring.
Hell ,I'm so old I remember when the Super Bowl halftime had marching bands...
