Also I went to school with him all my life and know him well and our families our close. I went to High School with Will Coggins at Booneville and his Dad was both my and my cousin’s coach in Baseball when we won the State Title. Anyways I’m hearing from his family to mine that yes he’s being considered seriously but they are still interviewing sitting HC’s and want one. Just letting y’all know Will is still a serious candidate. I’ve been around Will a lot anyways I will tell you he’s very always had that tough coaching attitude built into him and will work his *** off also is a very driven but players coach also. I also still hope they make a great HC hire also tell you it’s doesn’t matter what coach’s say when asked about this Job this early before post season and say they aren’t leaving. What do you expect them to say going into the postseason trying to win it and keep their players focused. After the the seasons over then they will likely take tbe offer seriously id say at least. Just wanted to tell y’all he still a pretty serious candidate for a fact.

Y'all remember, Wes Johnson left us for a lateral move to UPig. He is not a fan of Starkville. I'm having a hard time thinking of any coach who would leave their current job for us. A lot of it has to do with there being no really dominant (dominate*) team this year.

I'd have to say the revenue sharing situation is going to play into it...many schools will take resources away from baseball...so I can us returning to the Polk days when there were only a handful of schools that care about baseball...so coaches that may not have been in play last year May very well be in play this year ....

That wasn’t Lemonis. That was the coach before him. Lemonis never made it to a super regional at Indiana.
I pulled it up at the time, he might not have recruited everybody. But I saw the results, as it happened.
So he was the coach of record, and on the field. as far as I was concerned.
And I was Not displeased when we hired him.

Pat, I pulled him and Indiana up Back when it was happening. I was thinking, who in Indiana is doing this.
Don't generally see much out of those guys in regards to college baseball.
So, I knew who he was when we hired him.

No, its Lemonis at Indiana He was there 2015 to 2018.
That is when I'm speaking of.

ndiana (2015–2018)

[edit]
On July 24, 2014, Lemonis got his first head coaching job at Indiana, a rising program with two straight Big Ten Conference championships and a College World Series appearance in the previous two seasons.[11] In his first season with the Hoosiers during the 2015 NCAA Division I baseball season, they went 35–24 (12–10 in the Big Ten) in the regular season. Lemonis would lead the Hoosiers to the NCAA Regionals before being defeated by Vanderbilt in the second round.[10]

In his second season with the Hoosiers, Lemonis finished the 2016 season 32–24 overall and 15–9 in conference play. Lemonis and the Hoosiers would be invited to the Big Ten tournament where they would eventually lose to Maryland, in the second round.[12]

Following the conclusion of the 2017 regular season, Lemonis and the Hoosiers would finish the season 34–24–2 overall and 14–9–1 in conference play. After a second round exit in the 2017 Big Ten tournament, the Hoosiers would be invited to the 2017 NCAA tournament, in the Lexington Regional. Indiana would eventually be eliminated from the regional, following a loss to Kentucky.[13]

Lemonis and his Hoosiers would finish the 2018 regular season 40–19 overall and 14–9 in conference play; the Hoosiers' 40 wins is Lemonis' highest win total in a season in his 4-year tenure with Indiana. Finishing 5th in the Big Ten, the Hoosiers would fall in the second round of the 2018 Big Ten tournament to Illinois. Lemonis' Hoosiers would then be selected to play in the 2018 NCAA tournament, beginning in the Austin Regional.[14] The Hoosiers would eventually lose in the final round of the Austin Regional to Texas by a score of 2–3.[15]

Lemonis regional record at Indiana:
2015 - beat Radford, lost to Vandy & Radford
2017 - lost to NC State, beat Ohio, lost to Kentucky
2018 - lost to A&M, beat TX Southern & A&M, lost to Texas. A&M was the 3-seed.

so zero wins vs a 1 or 2 seed in 3 appearances

Indiana's only CWS was 2013 and we actually beat them 5-4. They lost their next game. Indiana hired Lem in 2014.
Simply put, Indiana teams and Midwest teams don't play good college baseball, and Indiana was catching my attention.
So, I looked into them, at that time. No, they did no play in the CWS, but I did watch a few of their games. And realized this is not normal for them. They mad noise.

Never said they made the CWS, just played very well for a Northern team. I watched them on TV.

Also heard from their cousins sisters dad’s uncle’s first cousins step uncle, that he is awaiting Wes to leave so he can take UGA spot. Just saying what’s been floating around … according to Cminus34
