Parker High School vs. Greenville High School. Used to draw about 20,000 (or whatever Sirrine Stadium could hold) on Thanksgiving afternoon. All that changed around 1967-‘68 when the “Big Schools” went to a state playoff system like their
smaller division brethren already had (up until then, the big school state champ was a mythical title bestowed by the state’s sportswriters).

Speaking of yer arch enemies, the Red Raiders be hosting a quarterfinal Friday……from yet another school from rock thrill……Catawba!…..I mean their birthing high schools up that way like mushrooms!
