Hope you can find one or two cool people to hang with. I would hang with you-I always admire your outlook and stance whenever you post. Hope your holiday turns out super and keep up the good work.
I have gone through life on scholarship...a quote I borrow from Paul Hornung. I met my future wife at age 12 and knew she was the one. She was very pretty and popular, so it took me 10 years to win her over. I loved football and I coached with enough success that it allowed me to draw a check as recently as yesterday as I continue to work in athletics ( my 52nd) years. A below average player, yet every penny I've ever earned can be traced to football. My wife gave me two wonderful sons and I finally have a beautiful 1 year old granddaughter.
On a sad note I lost my wife to cancer 15 years ago and Thanksgiving can be difficult because my mother passed away on Thanksgiving Day 30 years ago. Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes. As we age, there are far too many goodbyes.
We have a nice community here, a family of sorts. We have different perspectives and hence our opinions can clash. But I've always been impressed by the way everyone can put that aside and express heartfelt compassion for another.
Nothing is forever. You don't need a holiday to treat your loved ones special.
Thank you so much for your kind words.
