The Jacksonville Jaguars went from 3-14 and being somewhat of a joke under Urban Meyer last season to winning the division a year later. Plenty of people are more than happy to point that out.

he Jags beat the Tennessee Titans 20-16 in Week 18 on Saturday night to clinch the AFC South. After their victory to make them 9-8, many people brought up Meyer.

One reporter brought up Meyer to Jags receiver Marvin Jones, who was asked about the notion that the Jags were broken under Meyer last year.

“I think one person was broken. It wasn’t us,” Jones said.

Keep in mind that Jones had an issue with Meyer last season, so his answer isn’t too surprising.

I get that the Jaguars are excited after the big win last night, but they beat a team on a six-game losing streak (now seven) with no quarterback. The Jaguars offense was bad last night. They won their division (barely), but they‘ll go nowhere in the playoffs.

Did he use a pistol, a rifle or an assault weapon?

All you have to do is get in. Then it’s whatever team gets hot. Good for them. Nice turnaround by Pedersen.

I'm surprised that more players haven't talked about this. I have no first-hand info but from the vibes I've heard this must have been a real mess. For this years 180-degree reversal of fortunes CDP should be named NFL Coach of the Year.

Perhaps, but doing so might indicate a certain lack of focus on the here and now.

That would be hilarious. The stadium is packed, all the sports writers are present and the National TV coverage is all set. Then 15 minutes before game time the coach comes out and says “The players took a vote, and based on our seasons record, and fact that we’re underdogs we’ve decided not to play. Plus it’s really cold out there”.

Ideally Dallas should do that every year they make the playoffs. It’s almost like they don’t play since they never win.

If there was a playoff committee for the NFL.....they would not been selected...

So glad College Football does it the right way in detrmining who gets into the playoffs and who does not.

Why leave things to chance on the field?

So, the NCAA should redistribute the teams to various conferences/divisions by geography, centrally determine everyone's schedule, and then allow for a 56 team playoff (same % of teams making it to the playoffs for NFL and FBS), with most playoff tiebreakers being points scored/allowed?
