Jasper is under pressure from family to do more when he has the ball in his hands and at this point he is not capable of doing what they think he should be doing
Rumors his handlers have been talking with North Carolina but I doubt he does any better there and they will at least try and recruit over him
I don’t see this asked, but rather just see assumptions. What is he mad about? Everyone assumes it’s playing time. Maybe it’s something else.
He is playing out of position and is in his head . No way this is the top 20 kid that Alabama wanted badly and Pope swooped in and stole.

Well, the least objective are the family members. Jasper makes really dumb decisions on the floor. This post by Derrick also not so smart. I see improvement from JJ, but he cannot be trusted yet. His ratio of good to bad is still not playable for many minutes unless you just want to lose and see him get his. He is improving on defense, but is still hit or miss. I like a lot of what he tries to do on offense, but he forces a ton. That said, there are moments when he does things no other healthy player can do for UK. He is just way too inconsistent. This is not Overtime Elite.
While I think Jasper flirts with the transfer portal, UNC seems like an even worse place for him. Unless they have a ton of guys leave themselves, they are absolutely busting at the seems with guards. He would have to make huge improvement and win him playing time.

He plays like a guy who has heard "shoot it" from the stands his whole life.
I haven't seen what he said most recently but I've been assuming for a while he'll be gone this offseason. Five star guard who barely plays with a Dad vocal about his frustration...
Shining example today: 22-20 UF. UK has the ball.
Jasper jacks an awful, forced 3 that clangs off the shot clock and put of bounds. UF reels off 8 straight points to go up by 10.

I don't think Jasper is playing out of position at all. He's a combo guard. He just isn't very good as a freshman.
Someone should tell the family we all want JJ to be a star.

JJ is a freshman. Back in the day freshman would not play on the varsity teams for a reason.
We are so used to the dudes that Cal used to be able to recruit that were ahead of their age. Not everyone was John Wall. LETS remember Brandon Boston.
I would suggest everyone to chill out and not to bash our freshmen , especially after a lost game.

I get it, that’s his nephew. But what shackles are we talking about? Jasper has the ultimate green light and takes terrible shots. By all accounts a good kid but he’s a selfish basketball player. He would get more playing time if he could actually guard someone but he’s an awful defender at this stage of his career. Hope he stays and develops but not losing a lick of sleep if he chooses to leave.
And of course, Jasper came in today and did the same exact dumb, mix tape crap he's done all year. Takes a bad shot without even running a bit of offense and of course, it results in an essy bucket for Florida.
But, like the rest of the season, Jasper didn’t learn a dang thing and he did it again.
He should never play another minute here.
His game and his father's takes make a lot of sense now. His father obviously thinks that's how the game should be played, well, that whole circus needs to go elsewhere.
True, but on the flip side, none of Pope's other players play like that and Pope pulls him out of the game, only lets him play a few minutes a game.
It's not like Cal with Boston and Edwards, where he just let them do their thing and still started them.
Sometimes, platers just do things their own way and judging by his fathers comments, I'm not surprised.
Kid isn't a team player, which sucks, he has so much potential.

Thing is, he's been in all the same practices as the other players and all the other players developed together and learned how to pass to each other, JJ hasn’t.

Well, the family that's doing all the talking, is responsible for JJ's development up to this point, they did a real bang up job.
If they think his game translates to winning basketball, they should maybe take a class. It’s not winning basketball for anyone, but the team we are playing.
Yeah, but back in the day, AAU wasn’t what it is today.
We're seeing kids come out of HS more polished than most college seniors now.
Jasper played in one of the best classes we have ever seen, but it looks to me like his dad and uncle were his AAU program.
Why Potter? UK is severely in trouble next season if he's getting regular minutes.

That’s on me then if so. Not enough of a fan of KSR to join (or know about) a KSR fan group (not knocking those who are/do though).
I think this coaching staff has done a terrible job developing Jasper amoung others, his dad should be pissed
