He’s on the NBA’s Mount Rushmore for sure.
He isn't on my Lakers Mt. Rushmore.

Who would you take him above from the following:
Kareem
Magic
Kobe
Wilt
Shaq

I wouldn't take him over any of those guys.

That's 5, which is more than Mt. Rushmore so even if you want to say he is better than one, there is leeway to keep him off.

He also broke the all time scoring record when the rules were changed to favor offensive players. Keep in mind, in the 80's, this was just a regular foul:

I dont agree with all of his comments on society, but the guy has worked hard to try and fill the expectations put on him by way of his talent and influence.
It appears most people, when honest, just dislike him for how he presents himself off the court. Yet he is in a long term married relationship, he is an involved father, and he has discipline and drive that are usually seen as enviable. Some then say 'I dislike him for he play on the court'...but then they claim he is a racist/socialist/communist/cant speak/hypocrite so the claim that its just his play on the court that rubs them wrongly doesnt really hold water.

Its funny that in a time when half the country is losing its poop because of misinformation that gas stoves will be ripped from their homes, a person who has worked to try and help improve society is hated with such passion.
He has done way more to help improve the lives of others than many in Congress who just froth up their base, steal air time for one liners, and tweet about things that arent even happening. Yet those people in Congress are passionately loved by their loyal followers.

You really can choose to find enemies wherever you look, if you want it badly enough.

Your video also shows that Kareem and Magic weren't even better than Bird.

And he was able to do it while scoring 4 less points per game than Jordan, including Jordan’s semi-retirement years with the wizards. And to be able to celebrate like that while losing to the Thunder is special. #leadership.
Crying about PPG is just sad. The other 3 players ahead of Jordan in all time scoring also had lower PPG averages than Jordan. The record isnt 'Highest Overall PPG' its 'All Time Points Leader'.

Players are able to contribute for varying lengths of time and staying in good enough shape to play for a long time is part of the skill that goes into breaking longstanding records.
Different eras of the sport bring different results, its just reality. Nobody will touch rebounding records from 50+ years ago because the game is totally different. That doesnt mean someone now cant be a better rebounder than any of the various high rebounding rate players from over half a century ago. Wilt averaged 23 rebounds per game. Part of that is he was incredible. Part of that is the nature of the game back then. That stat will never be touched because of how the game is now played. It will stand well past when I die, unless the entire game of basketball fundamentally changes to something not even close to what is played today.

To really stir the pot, since you brought up per game stats...LeBron's career stats are higher RPG, APG, FG%, 3pt%, and eFG%.

To be very clear- I dont always like how LeBron handles himself on the court, I dont think his influence on rosters and coaches has been good for the league, and I dont like his off the cuff speech after breaking the scoring record.

If LeBron didn't act like a bi_tch if somebody looks at him wrong he'd have more fans than he does. If he had tried to drive the lane against the Knicks or Pistons in the 80's his va_gina would have fallen off.

That said, if I were going to start a team, I would pick Jordan all day, every day.

Kareem was well past his prime by those days and played a different position. He held the scoring record for almost 40 years, Bird is 36th. Magic was a great player, but you're right not as great as Bird.

And to celebrate, he dropped a F-bomb on live tv…

Youre aware he isnt talking to the tv, right? No more than a camera catching an F bomb at a concert. The event and experience is happening in a singular environment, there just happen to be cameras there

It’s always amazing to me how fired up people who “don’t care about the NBA” get about Lebron. It’s also hilarious to me how people who champion free speech are the first to tell people to ”shut up and dribble”. You don’t have to agree with him, but the complete lack of civility In this country is ridiculous. And to be clear, both sides of every issue are guilty of this. The same people who hate him because of tweets he sent out are the same ones defending Trump’s “mean tweets”. The hypocrisy is blinding. Lebron has done a lot of good for kids for Akron. I mean. A LOT of good. He does have a tendency to talk when a moment to think would be helpful, but hell, who doesnt. He is not the Antichrist however. It’s okay to not like him, but to act like he is causing the fall of western civilization is ridiculous.

Tiger’s sort of redeemed himself in the later years. He’s still widely beloved in a lot of circles and respected by his peers
Right, I was just mentioning one from another sport who is the top 2 all time and hated by many. Tiger isnt at the level of LeBron though.

From 96-12, the hate for Tiger was real. It was strong and very real. Straight up racism fueled a lot of it, and his personality didnt help with the rest that disliked him.
He fell from grace in a hard way and wow people loved it. They couldnt get enough.
...but America loves a comeback, and Tiger came back in a big way, so much has been forgotten/forgiven. He is also no longer seen as a threat so the hate for him has simmered significantly.

I didn't like Tiger because he was chasing Jack's records. I really liked Jack. As for Lebron, I haven't watched the NBA since the early 80s, and then only when forced. I don't care enough to hate, or like, anyone involved there.

More words than Lebron has points.

I think the hate for Tiger is way overblown. You probably watched too many HBO documentaries. Sure, there was a segment that was anti-Tiger, but not to the extent you want to believe. I was born in the late 80s and he’s probably my favorite athlete of all time.

I know being wrong isn't going to stop you, but feel free to read up on why Tiger was very much hated throughout his career.

Fart. You, like @mstateglfr and many journalists, just wish to make that true. At minimum, Tiger is not known for the reasons James is hated.

I've never met a single person that hated Tiger Woods.

Just ridiculous and stupid to make it about what YOU want to make it about. It's a mental disorder.

I haven't watched NBA since Charles Barkley retired and couldn't care less about LeBron.

But...if you thought he wasn't going to clinch this record at home, you crazy. Shout out to the +125 odds on "James to Score 35+ Points!"

Nice to meet you. I’m president of the Tiger Haters Club.
I hate Tiger because of his dominance, like I hated the Yankees in the 90’s. Plenty of stories out there to suggest he is not a nice guy off camera, but that’s been my impression of most elite golfers. I don’t hate him for that.

Part of it is the fact that he cheated on his wife I one of the biggest reason why people don't like Tiger Woods. The biggest is he was the New England Patriots of golf there for a while. Sure there were some racism involved but despite what a lot of people like you to believe not everything is about race.

LeBron would be a lot more likeable if he just played ball and didn't try to inject himself into the social fabric of our society. Everybody raise your hand if you enjoy being preached it by a basketball player

Are you responding the wrong person? My whole point is that no one hates Tiger due to his race. That's dorns and mglfers crap.
