I appreciate the loyalty, but he’s wrong.
Play calling is disjointed at best. Frankly, we run the wrong O for our talent. Plus, if players keep making mistakes at critical points this deep into the 2nd season, coaching is definitely a factorHe’s right most of the time. How many times have we watched them play be open but a block is missed, ball dropped, bad throw, etc. The first thing posters do is complain about Satterfield. I’m not saying he’s great but I see improvement now it’s up to execution
Lloyd also took up for a very poor offensive line earlier this season. He’s right most of the time. So, if you work extemerly hard as a salesman but can't ever close the deal they suppose to keep you? NOT!I too wish everyone could see what Coach Satt puts into his job.
Not so sure you get it.So, if you work extemerly hard as a salesman but can't ever close the deal they suppose to keep you? NOT!
We are 5-2. Maybe we should keep doing the same thing. Can't keep doing the same thing and expect a different result.

The coaches and players emphasize that they are constantly working on getting better every week!Granted, we won on Saturday. But we only put up 286 yards of offense. I think most would agree that's not a recipe for sustained success. You don't stop looking for improvement just because you won.

Ok, you can continue to wallow in your misery like so many other whiners.Except we're not seeing it. To a man, we were all hoping we'd see some change in offensive philosophy on the heels of the 2nd half at Kentucky. We did not. The offense actually regressed.
App State put up more yards at A&M than we did at WB.
Happy with the win but against better opponents our offensive play calling and execution must improve. Play calling and execution in red zone in the 4th qtr was horrible. No reason for not scoring on that possession. Defense kept us from losing this game.We are 5-2. Maybe we should keep doing the same thing.
Not wearing a tieI say without a doubt Marshawn knows more than EVERYBODY on this board combined about how to play football and how Satterfield coaches. I'm with him. Since y'all know so much about things you know nothing about, what color tie am I wearing today?
I wonder how close Satterfield is tied to Reno? It’s a precarious situation for Beamer. You have an under-performing coach who seems to be popular with the players. What to do?

All we know is the product on the field.I say without a doubt Marshawn knows more than EVERYBODY on this board combined about how to play football and how Satterfield coaches. I'm with him. Since y'all know so much about things you know nothing about, what color tie am I wearing today?
If memory serves he had to resort to a Wildcat offense from time to time and it worked to an extent. And it wasn't until Lattimore came that we started running a zone blocking scheme because that's what Byrnes ran. You gotta play to your strengths.I don't mind the pro-style offense on this level....Satterfield may simply need to simplify the one he learned in the NFL and use some elements of a spread style. Spurrier had to adjust his "Fun n' Gun"/"Run n' Shoot" offense a couple of years after he came to Columbia and was more successful when he did.
HahahahahaIt’s a precarious situation for Beamer. You have an under-performing coach who seems to be popular with the players. What to do?
Yeah, he had several variations depending on the personnel. IIRC Mangus added elements of the spread to Spurrier's offense and Elliott added the zone read when he came on board from App State. If memory serves he had to resort to a Wildcat offense from time to time and it worked to an extent. you mean the 5-2 team? That product? All we know is the product on the field.
Probably would’ve had more yards if we didn’t have a KOR, INT to the 5 yard line, and a fumble in the redzone. I’ll take that over having more yards.Granted, we won on Saturday. But we only put up 286 yards of offense. I think most would agree that's not a recipe for sustained success. You don't stop looking for improvement just because you won.
81st in yards per game. That product.you mean the 5-2 team? That product?
Ha! You are assuming that more possessions would automatically equate to more yards of offense. There was a period during the game where our offense netted -1 total yards on 3 consecutive possessions.Probably would’ve had more yards if we didn’t have a KOR, INT to the 5 yard line, and a fumble in the redzone. I’ll take that over having more yards.
146th in yards per game. I rest my case.
Yahoo Sports tells me we're 146th in yards per game. I rest my case.
Even so, how do you think 81st stacks up against other SEC teams. But I'll correct my post.Nope. 81st. SEC defenses ain't no joke. Definite improvement over last year.
I also saw 81st, biut don't share the sentiment that 81st is something to celebrate.
(Think it was espn where I saw that stat)
I was basing my comment on this from Yahoo. Perhaps they lump BCS and non-BCS teams for the ranking.Nope. 81st. SEC defenses ain't no joke. Definite improvement over last year.
Nobody was crying like this when we finished 81st in Spurrier's FIFTH year.
