People were calling for Spurrier to be fired in just about every thread?

I don't think spurrier was the OC, but there was a lot of negative sentiment. And that was with a head coach who had a bit more collateral stored in the bank, not a history underachieving.

Ha! You are assuming that more possessions would automatically equate to more yards of offense. There was a period during the game where our offense netted -1 total yards on 3 consecutive possessions.

Depending upon this offense to score is laughable. I would rather have a KO returned for a TD, an INT returned inside the 5, and fumble recovered in the red zone than ever rely upon our offense to score points.
I mean not trying to be the smartest person in the convo but common sense will tell you that 3 more possessions in our own yard lines would equate to more yards unless you’re saying that we would’ve had 3 turnovers to start those drives. We also converted 50% on 3rd down, our star RB dominated the second half, and our OL was bullying their DL for most of the game.

Spurrier had enough success and swag to where no one called for him to be fired. But people saw the writing on the wall prior to his downfall and called it out. Where he kind of stopped recruiting and developing players a few seasons prior to 2015. You got banned for saying anything about it though. I think the site was called Cockytalk maybe?
regardless, because of Spurrier, I think current and future coaches will be held to higher expectations then pre-Spurrier. He proved that Carolina can be a program that can go toe to toe with anyone.

When guided by a premier coach. No almost-great coach can succeed here. Only a top-tier coach can succeed here for more than a minute, and in order for a coach to succeed for very long, he needs to be non-geriatric when we get him.

Spurrier slipped up like all aging coaches do, by starting to let things slip that he would have crushed in his younger days.

He’s right most of the time. How many times have we watched them play be open but a block is missed, ball dropped, bad throw, etc. The first thing posters do is complain about Satterfield. I’m not saying he’s great but I see improvement now it’s up to execution
Rattler cannot run progressions and find the wide open third option once he moves from the pocket. He always only looks at the half of the field that he is rolling towards when a guy on other side of the field is WIDE-OPEN!! If he could do that instead of chucking it into the first row before defender gets within 8 yards of him. if he could do that 3 in 5 times he could become so much more effective. Also, if he was faster. I've been most disappointed at how big defenders run him into these throws

Replays usually show there was someone open when he scrambles but het throws it away too quick. I am talking about receivers which appear to be in his line of sight too. Hoping he continues to learn and grow.

After this week its 99th. But I'm guessing someone will still argue that it's improvement.
I'm pretty sure Saturday was the final straw. I'd be shocked if anyone argued that Satterfield should remain OC now.

Premier coach who is also embraced by the media. The media's fascination with Spurrier fueled alot of our success. Similar situation with Dabo - marketable name, marketable actions (hamming on social) and excellent CEO on the field.
