This^^^. To paraphrase Saban when they were talking about the O$U fanbase criticizing Day going into the playoffs. “If you aren’t supporting the program, you are hurting it” That certainly applies to PSU also. I think some secretly, or not so secretly, want to hurt it, to be honest, which is unfortunate.

Sandy hated football so much she signed Franklin to a 10 year extension. Don’t break your necks rewriting history.

Some of us have been saying this for years. Franklin has been dragging PSU into the modern era in part by leveraging contract negotiations to get funds for coordinators, facilities, etc. And many of our fans hate him for it. Franklin will go down in PSU history as the guy that forced PSU to decide if they wanted to try to play big boy football or be satisfied with being a second tier team when the sport evolved beyond the "less with more" era that you could get away with 20 years ago. He has won that battle, we are trying to compete with the big boys. Hopefully some of the more vocal Franklin haters will come to appreciate him with time, as what he's done here will benefit PSU football even after he's gone.

Hyperbole on your part. You missed several key points in that statement.

Already posted. How long will you believe this program is decades behind others? It’s insane.
As many decades as it took doing nothing to get it this far behind. O’Brien and JF both took the jobs and said everything was outdated and behind. Now NIL is king and they had catching up to do. It appears things are finally heading in the right direction.

Yes, she gave him an extension. However, if you don’t push forward for better facilities and pay for assistants, are you really making headway?
I can sign on for a lifetime as a NASCAR racer, but if I’m driving my high school ride - 1972 AMC Gremlin - I’m not going to be successful.

This is a really strange move for you to be negative about. We got the best available coordinator in the country, and you're upset about it... I'm lost.

Not upset - it shows PSU is in the greet game so to speak (but, they always have been). It’s a misuse of funds IMO - he’s only as good as the players he has. OSU knows this.
