I considered punching a d bag at Costco an hour ago cause he was blocking the smoked salmon. The only reason I didn’t knock his A out was I didn’t feel like addressing it at the press conference
Lemme guess; you buy the Kirkland brand. If so, you ought to thank the guy.

At Michigan's remaining home game at OSU, I wonder if they'll play "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" to get under Howard's skin. I'm sure the conference would frown on it though. Bad sportsmanship and all that.
That's funny but being serious, you can bet if Howard returns as the Michigan coach in the future, he's going to hear all kinds of crap from opposing fans. With his anger issues, I just wonder how long before he explodes again. Seems like a walking time bomb. His first game back at Wisky would be a can't miss game.

Serious question:
In today’s environment what would/should JoePa’s punishment have been for running down the ref and grabbing him by the back of his shirt (was it Iowa, ‘02?)?

Grabbing a Big Ten ref would get him a 5 year contract extension. If the ref was injured, a 10 year contract extension.

Seriously though, what do you think? At the time he got nothing, right? Couple game suspension? Fired?

Went and watched the video. Paterno didn't grab it violently, it was more to get the official's attention. In today's environment, though, I assume a reprimand at a minimum and 1 game suspension maximum. First offense and all.

No handshake line after the the Lady Lions beat MSU.

Did the B10 outlaw normal sportsmanship because the "Michigan Men" don't have normal respect for their opponents?

Dummy things down to the least common denominator? Which by now everyone knows is UM...... Sad.

He had to run the steps. He also had to suffer through the incompetent big 10's attempts at instant replay.

Found these quotes which I thought may be of interest. . .

"According to Dick Honig, there was nothing that crossed the line," said David Parry, the Big Ten's supervisor of football officials. "There was nothing vicious or hateful. [Paterno] just wanted to get clarification on two calls at the end of the game."

Paterno's outburst goes unpunished – Chicago Tribune

"I was running off the field and the referee--Dick is a friend that I've known for a while--I was trying to get a hold of him," Paterno said Tuesday on the Big Ten coaches' teleconference. "All I did was put my hand on his shoulder to stop him.

"I said, `Hey Dick, I thought you had two lousy calls on the other side,' not meaning him, because my kids were griping about it," Paterno said. "And I kept running by. That's as simple as that.

"You lose a close game like that, first thing you do is kick the locker, then kick yourself in the head and then take a shower to cool down. I think it has been blown way out of proportion. Dick would tell you the same thing. I in no way tried to grab him or shove him."

Paterno: No ill intent with ref – Chicago Tribune

I was expecting something like 3 games, but 5 makes sense. I thought that Gard might get a game, but the fine makes sense as well. And I thought the three players that each got a game deserved it. All in all, a fair punishment all around in my opinion…though Howard’s leash couldn’t be shorter at this point and this was his final strike I’m sure.

Why suspend him? Jesus.. Nobody got killed.. It was a little scrum. NHL use to have this crap every whistle.
And suspend him for the BIG 10 Tourney? HAHAHAHAHAHH. The Michigan-Wisky game in the tourney could be the most watched game this year.

You sound like just another Michigan apologist.

Not suspended for the BIG 10 tourney. Pay attention.

Howard may have tried to punch an opposing coach, but let's not get carried away and demand he lose his job. That's reserved for major crimes, like saying the word "noose". Right, Pat Chambers?

It's so absurd you have to laugh.
