I will never understand sitting the bench there versus actually playing somewhere else.
I'll bet he won't ever get any playing time at Alabama.

He will either portal out and play elsewhere, or he will ride the bench for 4 years.

Honestly why not take a nice Bama payout as a freshman, get some good coaching, then bounce for a better deal if you can?

He was committed to USM with plans for baseball before Saban offered. He’s got good speed but it’s tough to gauge how good of a safety he will be because he doesn’t play defense that much due to be their only viable option at QB.

Have watched him play in person several times. He is legit at the high school level. Very athletic and he’s a dang good QB. I am not sure if he can get on the field at Alabama or not, but I see why they offered him for sure.

After looking at the offer sheet it sounds like the commit to Southern was a placeholder because he didn't want State or Ole Miss pissed off by choosing one or the other but really wanted to go out of state. He may have let it be known he wanted Bama

We offered as a WR. Bama offered as a DB.
He jumped on the Bama offer. Good luck to him.

He committed to southern miss for baseball I think in 9th grade, I would say it was somewhat of a place holder. I don’t think ole miss was ever a thought but State would have been for sure. Hard to turn down Saban.
