What do you expect him to say at this point? And are you really asking why he would take the UF job? That speaks for itself. The only thing that would worry me if were taking that job is the pressure that would come with it. With Meyers recent success, a 8-9 win season is going to be a down year and upset a lot of folks. Other than that, it is one of the premier jobs in college athletics...if you coach in college sports, you dream of running a program like UF or Texas.

I believe Mullen has worked too hard in the past year to simply pack up and go back to Florida to rebuild. The soonest Mullen returns to Gainesville is October 16th and I look forward to it.
Does this seem like an "Easy" time for Meyer to leave? As he might not be able to handle the stress it will take to bring Florida back to a National championship contender year in and year out?

You can't blame him at all if he were to take the UF job. It would be stupid of him not to if he's offered. But at the same time, you can't blame me for giving the 17 up on MSU ever winning in football ever again. It would only once again confirm the ancient Indian Mound theory.
With that little piece of whiney commentary out of the way, I don't think we're going to lose him to UF, not right now anyway. Maybe a few years down the road.

..........about what this could potentially do to us. Don't tell me ds that you're not worried about what the possibility of losing Mullen does to us next year. We look poised to do some great things in 2010 and beyond. Are you seriously going to be okay with another setback, another upheaval of the program? I sure as hell will not be okay with it. I think we finally got the right man, which is rare for us.

I think what RCD is probably trying to say is that if you knew me, you'd know how passionate I am about MSU, and at the same how I like to screw with people. I've always done that. Bad character habit I guess.

Dan Mullen, before taking the HC job at State, knew what the Kang did here. He knows he has the opportunity to be State's Paterno/Bowden. All he has to do is win consistently and contend once or twice a decade. It's a total win for him and us.

Mullen would have to weigh his options. Sure he can pull more money out of MSU just for being mentioned, however he can stay here and pull in millions over the next few years while keeping the fan base happy by finishing in the top 1/2 of the SEC West. If he goes to UF he will be expected to contend for National Championships. I would stay where I could get rich without high expectations.

You sound like Larry Templeton. If offered the job Dan Mullen will be gone like that which is perfectly understandable. If he was as lame as you suggest with "get rich with the least amount of expectations" I would not want him as coach at MSU.
