Will be interesting to see if Tangelo sticks with the Falcons...at least as practice squad...they have highlighted his preseason performance on an occasion or two, but that is just the preseason and he was an undrafted free agent...🤷‍♂️

Not that I can see trace being a starter in this league but I’m surprised he’s a practice squad player. He seems to play smart and not make a lot of mistakes in the preseason games I’ve watched with the Ravens/Cardinals. But… I guess that’s why I sit on the couch on Sunday’s.

He played a ton this preseason and looking at his numbers he has around a 50% completion percentage and had an average of around 6-7 yards per completion with 2 interceptions in three games. I hope he gets another chance but he is what he is. Great kid and below average NFL Qb.

They traded Marcus Allen?
Wallace makes the cut.

Allen was cut but may be picked up tomorrow when they designate at least 1 player for the IR. More likely he'll be put on the practice squad where any team can pick him up if they want.

I read somewhere that oftentimes teams will "cut" a veteran knowing they will have an opening once they can officially place another player on IR a day after rosters are set. Then they can re-sign the 1st player. It essentially becomes a paper transaction with no financial loss to that player, but it allows the team to.protect another young player that shows promise. Hopefully that happens to Trace if he isn't picked up.

I believe both picks were off of the hands of receivers. Like I mentioned before, I don’t think he is a starter but I think he would be a safe backup to manage a game if your starter goes down.

Since the NFL expanded the practice squad because of Covid, more and more teams are just carrying 2 QB on the roster for game day and keep a 3rd on the practice squad. That's how Trace ended up in AZ last season. The Cards took him from the Raven's practice squad. So I agree, he'll end up somewhere, it's just a matter of him being ok if it's a practice squad being called up at times.

In his defense, as a professional, he has played behind three Heisman Trophy winning, first round quarterbacks. And they play the same style of QB he does.

So, Irv Charles, he of one (1) pass reception at Penn State, (albeit an important one) has made the opening day roster of the New York Jets?

edit- he was waived, but then I saw him on the final roster, so....not sure...

I don't see his name on the Jets web site.

I think hes on it, at least for today...

now I think he is gone.....
As it stood Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, Mims was indeed one of the six Jets WRs still on the depth chart after Jackson, Irving Charles and Tarik Black were waived. At tight end, 2019 draft pick Trevon Wesco and Kenny Yeboah, the late star of last season's preseason finale comeback tie vs. the Eagles, were both let go.
