I used to vote in those things until I woke up and realized nobody really cares what the alumni at large think. Even if I'm wrong about that, the board has been bloated to the extent that the alumni elected trustees influence is negligible.

This is for nominations to be put on the ballot for the board election. Unless it's changed, each person needs 250 nominations to be put on the ballot.

The incumbents up this year are Alvin DeLevie, Brandon Short, and Steve Wagman.
Former PSU QB Matt McGloin is also running - and is on a slate w Alvin D.

Once we know for sure which others may be running, I will post an update TTBOMK.

I don’t know much about Wagman, at least nothing comes to mind, but with the others, it’s football, football, and more football.

Honestly question that Barry can probably answer. Have the alumni board members accomplished anything in their role? I understand from reading here how the board is stacked against them so don’t take this as a knock, but I’m just wondering what they are actually capable of accomplishing.

Aside from Barry, they've accomplished nothing. Barry, alone, can't move the mountain, but he tries and no one else has. If no one tries, then PSU never gets better.

Careful. As we’re getting close to election time, some of the alumni-elected trustees are expected to make their annual appearance among the unwashed (us). They’ll contradict you with facts, or something.

9 people doing the job - regardless of how they got on the Board - could probably do significant good, IMO.
Probably could be a lot of good done even with somewhat less than 9 (2? 4? 6?). From my vantage point I feel more strongly about that than I did a few years ago (even though I was trying to be hopeful then). But we'd have to see it to know.

To be honest, I think even 1 has had some impact - even in a relatively short amount of time - and some things are at least glimmering some hope... like transparency and accountability and the value of asking "Why?" and saying "No".
But there is such a long road yet to travel to get to the types of changes that are needed, and any impact would be greatly magnified by more.

Does anyone know Wendy Silverwood outside of the old board? I think she'd be a good candidate if we could convince her to run. Who can phone her up and find out if she's interested?

Al and McGloin are joined at the hip. I ran into them at several functions at the Peach bowl including Neeli’s donor party, an NIL function and another private event. Plus they were constantly around the team hotel bar

I won’t share a name but the two of them came up to me and a current player not to be name ad we were talking. I introduced them to the player. After they left, the player asked me to confirm who McGloin was. Then he said oh ok, I hear he’s a dick. 😂 I confirmed his info.
If McGloin gets elected to the BoT, he'll have lots of company.

Does this include Jay?

What has Barry accomplished? Not knocking him, I just don’t see what 1 person can accomplishment on a board that large.

That’s what I’m asking though. What could they actually get accomplished?

Well, for one thing, the communication from Barry has been outstanding and that's a lot more than any other trustee has accomplished. In addition, you know that at least one trustee (Barry) actually cares about the University and in that you should find some comfort in addition to making the board leadership uncomfortable. I've begun to notice that some other trustee are beginning to ask questions so although change is slow it is happening.

If we could get Barry some help in the form of additional trustee(s) that actually want to do their job than we'd start to see some real progress.
