I was on a shuttle bus to a Steeler game with my Dad the day after the crash. The lady in front of us heard us talking about the crash and she leaned back and said she had a nephew on the team and if we knew anything. Felt awful for her and hoped her nephew was one of the few survivors. We are Marshall!

here since 1985 !! Loving life!Sluggo, how long have you lived in Huntington?
Bring some tissues!!So sad, both of those crashes.
Not that I remember them directly, as they bookended my birth.
But to think how devastating both events must have been to their respective university communities… I can’t even begin to fathom it.
I have never seen We Are Marshall. Maybe I will watch it tonight
I didn’t get to watch it on the 14th itself but I watched it last night. Wow. Hell of a thing they went through and what a story it was. I felt so inspired at the end. And thank you for the bit of insider info!Bring some tissues!!
I’ve been lucky enough to know the real Reggie Oliver ( sadly he’s passed)
As well as the real Red Dawson ( who isn’t well right now)
Both had good stories. According to Reggie the beer Joe Hood told him to get was Falls City not what’s in the movie ( or vice versa)
Red had some interesting comments about January Jones who plays his wife Carol in the movie. His comments were directed about his wife and not January though

The Mu memory cemetery is over the hill from my house. I was out walking and found this guy. He played and graduated the yr before the plane crash. It was his first time back. It was an emotional experience for everyone including me He lost most of all his teammates
