10 years ago I would have been in full agreement.

NIL changed all that for me.

19 years old? IDGAF. You wanna take all that money, you're subject to criticism just like anybody else drawing a paycheck when you don't do well at your job.
Agree, as soon as these guys start accepting money for play, they become professional athletes and not exempt from criticism. There is pain and disappointment in the real world… get use to it. Country has gone soft.

I would hope my employer would not feel the same way. I’m a supervisor and I don’t feel that way. I think we disagree about evaluating employee performance. I don’t think your standard is realistic. All or nothing standards are not realistic. They create a very bad environment. Nobody benefits.

And you don’t know me. Not sure why you are talking **** on Allar either. Nobody feels worse than that kid. You don’t seem to get that concept. I made a point of not being rude to a 19 yr old kid and somehow you took the hard line in the opposite direction. Not a good look for you.

Good for your son on Cabrini. That was a great program. I was disappointed to learn Villanova took them over. It was a nice campus with good athletics.
My thoughts are as soon as NIL happened, Allar = Hurts = Daniel Jones. You take money, you get big press. And again, 15s driving his gt3 home from the airport in an hour, meeting up with his 10 of 10 gf at his roomy toftrees apt and pulling a line off her A, then playing a free 18 tomorrow and enjoying his free burger at after. His toughest moment at the turn will be deciding if he should attend afternoon classes Wednesday.
F his feelings, dudes an absolute pro.

Like you, your sons appear to be complete losers..

Doted upon by their father (and perhaps mother)
Managed to graduate from high school and have allegedly gone on to "great things"
Your schtick is getting stale
I'll stop now before I spill the real beans.
Wtaf are you talking about lol

If we are talking about when it became evident Joe was in the twilight of his career, you can start around 2000. Or even the end of 1999. Some of the stats you posted are a bit deceiving also. For instance, 2009 looks good on paper but was a bit underwhelming in reality. They only beat 1 ranked team that year. The nonconference schedule was especially weak and they got embarrassed at home in prime time against Iowa. I think they made Adrian Clayborn a high ranked draft pick because he looked like a man playing against boys that night.
There is nothing deceiving about the record. You play the schedule you have. I said 2008 ands 2009 were decent -2008 did they beat Michigan and OSU? YES and 1 point away from going undefeated in the regular season how about 2009? NO lost to OSU..... You know the darlings of the Big Ten since 500 BC

2008 and 2009 are only 2-3 years from his retirement
Yes Joe was on the decline but far from being a disaster his last 10 years as some on this bard seem to have selective memories about. 3 over 10 wins season in 10 years??? 2 really bad years in that stretch ?? yes nothing to write home about for sure.

It started with Hack took him getting concussed against GA. to get Trace in the game and almost win.

Trace was limping in games while Will watched from the side lines'

Drew stunk today , maybe he'll have better days , but Beau deserved a shot , not to take over, but to change it up.

Almost win? I guess I watched a different bowl game that day that you did.

I can say one thing…I don’t care how much money my college kid is making…I am not taking his or her money nor am I allowing them to drive a Porsche….and its not the driving safety…it’s the image, precedent and entitlement that is not right..wait till you graduate then buy urself an exotic car…don’t drive around playing king..SMH

I imagine it’s more complicated with a financially-independent 19 year old pulling down $1M a year.

Anyone who was surprised by that offensive performance hasn't been paying attention - or is blind.
C'est la vie.
But you know what? That’s a lot of people on here. People who kept insisting that the on-field performance didn’t matter. Only the scoreboard did.

Those of us of us that knew better kept saying, “This offense isn’t cutting it. It doesn’t matter that they’re able to hang 30+ on Illinois, the way they’re playing isn’t going to get the job done when they run into a real opponent.”

“wHaT r U tALkiNg ‘bOuT, bRo? u dOn’T nO ****! LoL! sCorEboArD!”

And how’d that work out today? 1-10 against OSU in the Franklin era. Yurcich stumbles into the booth on yet another Saturday with no discernible offensive plan. No evidence that they even attempted to prepare for this game.

I’m convinced this is the status quo for this coaching staff. They’ll beat the 9-10 easy opponents they have each year, dump to their tough opponents, and be satisfied with never getting anything more than a decent bowl game.

Ohio State isn’t that good. An average offense would have prevailed today. We couldn’t even be average. Embarrassing.

It's been evident for some weeks now that we don't have much of a passing game. I was honestly hoping that as the weeks rolled by that it was getting better, even hoping- without conviction- that we were hiding something for this week. Well, not so much. I see too many problems to expect it to get better.

It's pretty clear that we have a championship level defense and pretty good special teams, but this offense isn't going to sniff the playoffs, nor should it.

Yep....just shows what one more year in a program means. I'm referring to McCord. This was only his 7th start too. But he is a junior as opposed to sophomore. Drew seemed rattled at times....and did notice him crying on the sidelines as the clock round down. Not good.
And McCord had the ND game under his belt--away game in a hostile environment. But--Harrison is the real deal. That was the difference.

Agree. McCord is in this third year. He couldn’t beat out Stroud and he struggled to start this year.
LOL, well most QB's in the country would not have beaten out Stroud so I wouldn't read to much into that. PSU would have taken McCord in a heartbeat.

McCord was a 5 star recruit and I think the thought was he would come in and immediately compete for the job after Fields left. Stroud was still a bit of an unknown at that point. I have no doubt that PSU would have taken his commitment. Unfortunately, he thought PSU’s system at the time, which featured quite a bit of QB designed runs, wasn’t in his best interest.

When the idiotic extension he got runs out ;)

That is 2031. And PSU owes him 8mm a year for every year left on his contract if they terminate him. Assuming nothing changes, with five years left on his contract he’d be owed $40mm. Thanks Sandy!

Yet some of the geniuses in this board would have been calling for Stroud to be benched after a loss to Michigan. Those fans are much more forgiving to players and coaches on other teams.

Stroud was 31/48 for 349 yards and 2 TDs and 2 INTs vs Michigan last year. He wasn’t the issue.

Pretty good special teams is pretty generous!
