You forgot the main criteria…”the SEC must have a representative in the CFP no matter what.” The rest of the rules just exist to make that rule attainable. The gutsy move would have been FSU, UM, Washington, and Texas. All conference champs and Texas has the head to head against Bama. As it is, the criteria for selection continues to move whichever way suits the committee best - it's head to head, but not if it's early in the season; it's conference championship, but only if you have one loss; it's hypothetical, unless your star player is out; etc. So happy to be done with this garbage.

The board requires that you have a poll with the hottest chicks of the 4 playoff teams! Just give Bob a days notice!Finebaum is such a smug a-hole but rightly points out that if the ACC commissioner hadn’t blocked the playoff system that would have otherwise been in effect this year, FSU would have been in.
Which Y’know should be the sentiment.Reverse Bama's and FSU's situations and it would have been "you can't put a one loss team in ahead of an undefeated one"
Yep. Consistency would be FSU over Bama. They’ve never left out a P5 champion out in favor of a P5 team with more losses and it’s ridiculous to start now. At least be consistent with what you do and not completely arbitrary. The decision has ESPN and SEC powerbrokers written all over it. If the excuse is that Alabama looks like the better team now (after a miracle win over Auburn), then Penn State should have been picked to get into the playoff series over OSU in 2016. The decision is pure BS IMO where the ”rules” get changed for certain schools and conferences.
You always have such an inspirational way with words.CFP ratings were largely shlt beforehand and last year's UGa-TCU abortion was just the whipped team with the cherry on top.
Ratings should improve for the initial 12-team format. Won't take too long before they're headed back to the crapper.
If they stimulate your appetite or it's terminus,, they've had the intended effect. You always have such an inspirational way with words.
It JUST means more. You forgot the main criteria…”the SEC must have a representative in the CFP no matter what.” The rest of the rules just exist to make that rule attainable.
You can argue that Texas not only won the Big 12, but they won the SEC one year before even joining.

It does neither. Just incredible how your glass is always half empty. If they stimulate your appetite or it's terminus,, they've had the intended effect.
That is incredible insult to injury because the real screw job was getting left out the same year you don't have to play Georgia.I feel for FSU. To add insult to injury, they drew Georgia in the Orange Bowl. It’ll make the CFP snub irrelevant. If you can’t beat Georgia, you can’t complain about being left out.

Probably just posturing, but still….could get entertaining.
Dorothy Hamill hold my beer…
I've been saying this for years
Here's the problem with College Football and always has been far too much like figure skating, I don't give a s^^t about the committee's opinion and what they "Think" might happen, FSU got jobbed plain and simple. This board would be losing it's mind had this been PSU getting screwed for Bama.I’m good with the selections. Bottom line, bama can beat um*. I don’t think this fsu team could beat um*.
FCk the Tide, crooked selection Committee just made me root for Scum, who would have thunk it..Roll Tide!!
Toilet bowl. Narduzzi is right at home. What bowl is Pitt in?
Texas was always going to be in before Bama, both had one loss and one beat the other, head to head has to matter.Think FSU should be in, but not sure why there is minimal questioning of the inclusion of Texas.
Texas is considered better than OU because of the results of a whole season’s worth of games.
Yet, for Texas and Bama, only the result of a single game is supposed to be considered.
Because it's an open NCAA investigation. By NCAA rules he's not allowed to talk about it. Insert your comments about how UM laughs at NCAA rules here. There must be an unwritten absolute rule that NO ONE is allowed to ask Jimbo ANY questions about his directing his football staffers to video tape other B1G teams signs. Why won’t anyone ask him if he directed these activities? Not one single question. True investigative journalism is dead.
Probably intentional, so that the CFP can justify their selections after UGA beats them.I feel for FSU. To add insult to injury, they drew Georgia in the Orange Bowl. It’ll make the CFP snub irrelevant. If you can’t beat Georgia, you can’t complain about being left out.
