Part of it may have been to keep them honest. Hitting the first two long TD passes prevented them from putting 8 in the box. That makes it easier for the run game to work. Once run game was working, BS started to drop more guys into the box. Sprinkle in a few pass attempts and they get pulled out again. Even if the passes aren’t connecting, it enhances run game. Doesn’t mean there weren’t some curious times to call a pass, but we don’t know what was actually called and what was an audible.
