Part of it may have been to keep them honest. Hitting the first two long TD passes prevented them from putting 8 in the box. That makes it easier for the run game to work. Once run game was working, BS started to drop more guys into the box. Sprinkle in a few pass attempts and they get pulled out again. Even if the passes aren’t connecting, it enhances run game. Doesn’t mean there weren’t some curious times to call a pass, but we don’t know what was actually called and what was an audible.What are your thoughts on the offensive play calling? It seemed pretty obvious that running the ball was working well. I have a hard time believing that AK was being dumb or arrogant by passing so much, so there must have been something else going on. Countering defensive adjustments? Working on the pass game since it looked like we were not going to have a problem handling boise? Trying not to over work the backs?
