So I guess Kansas City’s OC gets no credit since Mahomes does this stuff all the time.

Certainly the play call allowed for Drew to improvise and make the play, and the fades were new (and well timed/executed). The announcers noted it was a busted play designed to keep Drew rolling right. Anyway, thanks for the response.

How close did Clifford come to blocking the punt? (I was at the game.) I noticed CJF saying that Clifford had the punt blocked but didn’t utilize the correct techniques. The board’s thoughts?

As my wife and I approached the stadium we saw a sign “Recruits’ Entrance.” My wife has been with me at the three most recent PSU-at-Maryland mega-blowouts (including yesterday), and we had a nice discussion about how important DMV is to PSU recruiting, and about the fact that the Maryland players yesterday very probably were in attendance at these mega-blowouts from last years. “Protect This House,” yeah, right. You have to wonder what’s going through those players’ heads.

Lol, I have a cousin with Maryland season tickets (a favorite of mine, I saw her yesterday), and I texted her, “Jane is wondering if there is some rule that mandates PSU scoring at least 50 points at Maryland.” “I’m sure the Maryland players are wondering the same thing.”

Good QBs make the plays that are called. Great QBs create plays when all else fails. Not saying Allar is "great" yet, but when you look back, QBs like McSorely fit that model, and this play certainly seems to fit the bill.

They ran that play in a prior game, the little flip to the TE pulling across the LOS. I believe it was Warren, almost scored on it. Similar to what KC Chiefs use with Kelce. This game was improv, but a wise improv as Drew was being tackled.

Yeah I walked past that as well. I was with my brother and SIL - both Terps- and didn’t hae the heart to to point out how it looked like it had not been in use for a while
