The remainder of this season will prove you wrong.
You’re over reacting to a loss which is fairly typical on this board. Michigan and OSU are among the best teams in the country. 10-2 is still a very good outcome. How many teams in the Big10 do you think are wishing they could do that well?

There was a 3rd down play in the 1st half where he bounced it wide and couldn’t get around the corner. Then they showed a camera angle from behind and I saw what he saw. There was nowhere to go. A complete wall with no holes at all. I‘d like to see that angle more often. They showed it for a Michigan rb and the hole was huge.
The right side of the OL is a liability.

We at least have to shift the paradigm. Franklin talks like he runs the Athletic department. Even just a tepid comment from our AD once like "we shouldn't be getting blown out like that and its going to be unacceptable moving forward at Penn State, James knows that more than anyone." Couple that with some dwindling attendance and maybe starts to teach his team to fight a little bit more.
Who drops thousands year after year to attend these games?

The histrionics from both camps aside, Franklin is getting paid 5.9 million a year, had 2 weeks to prepare, and this was the result?
REALITY is that Maryland, Iowa and Indiana all kept their game with Michigan closer without the elite salaries and star recruits. What does one take away from that?

Franklin to you about that salary number:

My question coming out of this debacle is: Are we sticking with Sean Clifford as our starting QB going forward?

If yes, why?

The only possible answer to this question is: “Because we feel he gives us, day-to-day. the best chance to win.”

And I’m calling B.S. on that. Sean Clifford has no future on a football field as a player, and he’s at the peak of his potential right now which is “he’s not good”. If Clifford gives us our best chance to win, that means Drew and Christian must be dirt-awful, and I don’t think anyone believes that.

I was not happy with Franklin’s decision to start Clifford this year from the get-go. I would have rather had it be a rebuilding year, giving the younger QBs a chance to get some game experience, and instead we’ve largely squandered that opportunity.

But maybe you justify starting Clifford as long as the team remains undefeated…? Fine. That ship has sailed. It’s time to cut bait.

Bret Bielema is at Illinois for a second year and he turned it around. He did it with road graders , those kids are out there, but not the 4 and 5 star guys most PSU fans would want.

Minnesota same thing big all around.

Michigan was ready to dump Jimmy, but he took a pay cut or no raise i forget which. Jim turned it around by surrounding himself (IMHO) NFL coaches via brother John's advice.
We play bad teams, go 5-0 and have good stats but so many on here say we aren't any good because we haven't played anyone. Now Bret Bielema is getting credit for turning Illinois around? Let's see, he is 6 - 1 with some big wins over Wyoming, Chattanooga, and Virginia, and of course that 9 - 6 shootout with Iowa. They have played 1 relatively good team (i.e. Indiana) and they lost.

Minnesota? They did have that 1 Big Ten West title in 2019; they haven't won the conference in over 50 years.

The issue is the lines are built for Big 10 play and he knows that and did it in TWO years, how ? I don't know ! What ever blue print he's using deserves a look regardless. He also beat Wisconsin and will probably win the West and take his team to INDY.

I don't disagree with any of what you just posted. All I am saying is that we shouldn't go giving those two teams/coaches too much praise just yet. Neither winning the west, nor beating Wisconsin this year is much of an accomplishment.
