Washington was open. Clifford threw it in the wrong directionPenn State’s playbook:
1. Badly designed, conservative plays
2. Ridiculous, unnecessary home run plays
Conservative plays have led to two straight 3-and-outs.
Mindless home run play results in yet another poor throw by 6th-year QB and a pick.
Do they know how to run mid-yardage slants? How about a screen?
They ran one screen against UM and got hit for interference. They tried screens & related plays against Michigan and they got blown up with ease. Slants are a great idea, however. Clifford would probably dangerously throw them over the receivers' heads or behind them, however.
2 first downs in the first quarter isn’t exactly a juggernautSteve Jones is a dope. He does not think the offensive situation is desperate yet.
Buncha quick outs like the one they just ran ... and it got blown up yet again. The lesson? All the behind the LOS throws are trash for this current iteration of a PSU offense. They ran one screen against UM and got hit for interference.
Clifford shouldn’t be playing.
Buncha quick outs like the one they just ran ... and it got blown up yet again.
We should be so lucky to have sabermetrics on our side. Then we wouldn’t do dumb stuff. It just seems like this team is coached by Sabermetrics with no feel for how the game is actually going.
They had three guys out there with two PSU receivers and we threw it. What do they think is going to happen?
The alternative is a Clifford pass attempt. You make the callWTF WAS THAT 3RD AND 5 CALL, YURCICH?????
Exactly............. you never know what you will get .The alternative is a Clifford pass attempt. You make the call
Ah don’t complain - Yurcich and Jimmy will have you asleep pretty quickly. They don’t generate much excitement.God this game is going to go until 1am. So many commercials and stopages.
I’ve noticed thatAh don’t complain - Yurcich and Jimmy will have you asleep pretty quickly. They don’t generate much excitement.
The definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different resultsThe most disheartening thing is that you listen to these coaches… they don’t seem to think there’s a problem.
Both Franklin and Yurcich basically said this week: “Yeah, we just need to keep doing what we’re doing.”
No. That’s LITERALLY the problem. Franklin blamed last week’s slaughter on being “undersized” on the lines. Cool, man. Uh—why are you not recruiting bigger linemen, then?
