A-hole Klatt comment #3 (after INT TD) : "It is tough with veteran QB and the fanbase. If you've stayed so long it means you were not good enough to leave".

Says the guy who stayed all 4 years at CU and barely sniffed by NFL..

Klatt was not drafted in the 2006 NFL Draft but he did attend the Detroit Lions' and New Orleans Saints' rookie mini-camps after the draft. New Orleans signed him to a free-agent contract after their mini-camp, but then released him 11 days later on June 2, 2006. The Lions claimed him off waivers less than a week later, but Klatt was released on August 7, 2006, before the start of the regular season.

Sorry if already discussed. It appeared that the Purdue RB took off his helmet after scoring the TD in the second half. How did he not get a penalty? I just saw some highlights. Maybe the splicing made it look that way when he was actually on the side line.

I wouldn’t go that far. Still, this win was worth a bottle of Woodford Reserve, that ballpark.

Save it, Micah. You weren’t here when we needed you. Just post about the Dallas Cowboys.

Exactly. We don't want our most successful recent "graduate" of our football program reminding the world that he was positively affiliated with it. Why would we want the Defensive ROY promoting our program? You totally nailed it.

Johnson is straight up annoying. How many "Chuck Sizzle and Cincinnati kids" can an audience tolerate? He needs to control it better. Klatt is a f-in bias hack who hates PSU. We know the past with him. Listen to some comments 1. During Strange TD I believe, Tinsley got mugged on pass and drew PI. Ball was a little underthrown but close hit DB in back. Klatt "oh, I don't know about that call. Ball was not there. Penn State gets bailed out. They got free 15 there" F-you, Klatt. That is illegal and PSU got nothing free. 2. On Wheatley strip, which was a great D play on review "Oh that was the bad PU play scheme. He never had the ball" B-S, kid had the ball for 5-6 yards before strip. He never gave credit to Wheatley or Porter for heads up play. Klatt is just an a-hole. Intolerable
I normally laugh at the posts bemoaning the announcers. I can truthfully say that I seldom listen to anything being said. I’m frequently with friends watching games and our conversations become the play by play. Two people are like nails on the chalkboard - Gus Johnson and Tom McCarthy who does the Phillies TV call. Johnson drives me crazy for his diction in pronouncing words. The words are extended and he over emphasizes them. McCarthy is just an idiot. Every Phillies checked his swing, every opponent didn’t. Every Phillies is safe, Every opponent is out. I get homers but it’s ridiculous.

So, last night was painful listening to Johnson enunciate.

It gives you real appreciation for Vin Scully, the greatest ever. Watch Gibson’s World Series Home run off Eck and compare and contrast that to Gus Johnson. I think after Gibson homered, Scully was silent for close to two minutes to allow the viewers to simply take in the stadium sound and the moment. Scully actually stood and turned his back to ensure he didn’t ruin it. Imagine Gus Johnson on that call.

Andy Strasburg is a great story teller who worked in the Padres org. He asked Vin Scully onetime to read his shopping list and Scully makes that even sound good.

Gus Johnson is a hack.

MAGICAL. o_O

We scored with 57 seconds left. Of course, it felt like pu had the ball for two hours afterwards.

A lot of people criticize Gus Johnson. I admit he's a bit over the top but his excitement is contagious. Didn't he call Brisker's INT to beat Wisconsin last year? Wasn't he the wizard of camelot guy?

I don’t pay that much attention or get upset with any of the announcers or color guys, it’s not worth getting your undies in a bundle.

It is fun when they get stuff wrong or have no clue what’s going on. Two examples from last night:

- I believe it was PSU’s first TD, there was a pregnant pause until they belatedly realized it was a TD and called it such…..WTF were they watching?

- They kept insisting the Purdue back that fumbled because he was stripped never had possession of the handoff. Again, WTF were they watching?

FYI Klatt has/had tons of buff records and I’d take klatt over cliff 10 of 10 times

My mistake. Micah is a great Nittany Lion. An all-timer.

Second point. (Or third).
When your team is winning, he’s great. When you are losing, he’s annoying

I saw an interview with him last year on the PSU weekly show. He admitted he’s over the top but that who he is. I’ll cut him some slack because of that interview. He was genuine.
