I didn't mean to touch a nerve there glfr. But I'm not forcing anything. Words have meaning. you said them. I happen to live with a biblical world view. Guilty as charged. If you view that as lame, I'll toss you on my prayer list.
Regarding ESG: I make it a point to not invest in any company directly that incorporates ESG in any of their business decisions. I've also instructed my broker to do the same. I contribute to the charities and causes that I support directly. I don't need a company to do that with my funds. My investments are there to grow, not push anyone else's agenda that may or may not agree with my values.
Its lame because even though I had continually said I do not have an issue with corporations trying to maximize profits and make more money, you applied your religious beliefs to a word I used and then told me that my view is actually the opposite of what I clearly stated, due to your interpretation and application of the word.

I dont think it is lame that you have a biblical world view. I think it is lame that you are unable or unwilling to converse in a manner that recognizes most dont have as strict a world view as you. I say that because I cant remember the last time someone genuinely referenced greed as a Deadly Sin.

On a related note- will you abstain from voting this November? You clearly dont intend to vote for Biden, and with Trump's long documented history of Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Wrath, Envy, and Pride...I would figure your Biblical world view wouldnt allow you to support him either.

for them. Not necessarily for the rest of us. Its generally been agreed for a long time that monopolies are a bad thing, despite all those profits they bring, but i know the far right is so lost these days that that too may have been forgotten.

That's not how things work. The whole point of cornering a market is that barriers to entry virtually guarantee you a lack of competition for the foreseeable future. That's why corps are so eager to corner a market, it's like printing money.

Market consolidation did not kick into high hear 3 years ago. That's just when the bill came due.
I agree that monopolies are bad. But just because a corporation is large doesn't make it a monopoly.
Reaching back to Regan for the cause of current inflation rate is quite a stretch to say the least. The economy when he took office was even worse than today.

One of my Econ professors when I was at State always said that a president takes too much credit for the economy when it’s good and too much criticism when it’s not good. There’s a lot more factors there than simply a presidents economic policy at work.
Yep. The president mostly influences the economy indirectly, but you'll sometimes see the market react to presidential or FED comments and then quickly return to just doing what they do. You might could draw some inference from executive orders, but I bet it would be hard to find a straight line from one of those to a specific economic driver.

In all seriousness maybe you haven't heard that because of the people you are around.
I see the traits you list in both major party candidates. Not that it's anyone's business, but I will vote. If Jesus is on the ballot, I'll have a sign in my yard. If not, I vote for the person who's decisions and actions taken as president are closer to the one's I'd have made.

Well I sure hope that you wouldn't grab women by the ***** and brag about it on TV, sexually assault women, refer to entire people groups, who are made in the image of God, as "'vermin'" while quoting Hitler, or just "not people" at recent campaign events, have sex with and pay off a porn star while your wife is pregnant, compare yourself to Jesus (blasphemy), attempt to overturn an election, never attend church, be involved in enough potential crimes to be indicted nearly 100 times, and then grift your followers by selling bibles with an American flag on them and secular documents and songs inside them to support your own legal fees.

This is a long term key to housing affordability.. The days of 3000 sf for a family of 4 are likely gone. We don't need craft rooms, 500 square feet of living room and 200 square feet of closet. My apologies to younger millennials and Gen Z, but you'll be fine... Most of you would rather live in a campervan anyway. 1500 sf will be fine.
So you decide what people want and need……gotcha

So if that's your criteria, is there really a good choice? I mean, Joe Biden showered with his then minor daughter and sniffs kids hair all the time, which is highly indicative that he is a pedo.

And are we to "Believe all women?" Then I guess we will believe Tara Reade also.... There are plenty of other examples I could use to knock Biden or the Democrats, but I'll stop there.

I'm going to vote, but it isn't going to be based on either candidates morals.

Agreed! I would argue the market share of a company is what matters for this argument.
Reaching back to Regan for the cause of current inflation rate is quite a stretch to say the least.
Not at all. That is exactly what spurred the push to enable corporate consolodation. It was the absolute intended outcome of a policy change. There is no other start point to pin it on.

[/URL]

And maybe this was a good thing! (I don't think it was, but maybe.) But it unequivocally is what is responsible for a large chunk of current inflation. It is the bill for all that consolodation, good or bad.

The economy when he took office was even worse than today.

Undoubtedly. Only partisan Trumpists think we have a bad economy right now. But don't worry, they'll think things are going gangbusters whenever an R gets back in office. Within 24 hours probably.

Well I wouldn't do most of what you list with a few exceptions.
1. I could be indited if the right persons want to indite me. Being indited doesn't equate to being guilty. "If a district attorney wanted, a grand jury would indict a ham sandwich.”
2. Although I don't think I could overturn an election or know of anyone who has, I wouldn't see anything wrong with challenging the results of an election. That's been done many times by people with all kinds of political affiliations.

Depending on the definition of nationalist you use, I could either agree or disagree with Mr. Bonhoeffer.

I suspect that the president has less impact on inflation than other economic factors. That being said, here are the numbers by president going back to JFK. Looks like you should pushing to help Trump suspend the constitution and then pull a fast one on him and stump for Obama.***

That backs up pretty much what I have seen. Since 1992 we have been looking for somebody to save us from this ******** and nobody has done it yet. I hope we don't get fooled again, but our choices are 80-year-old senile fools, yet I still think the biggest problem is the overall age of our Congress. It is time for ideas and people

I will set aside the insane claim that there are high indications Biden is a pedophile, and focus on your last comment. Your decision to not vote based on candidate morals is an approach that many voters take, and I certainly dont knock it.
But when someone says they have a Biblical world view, to the point that they reference greed not in the a way that it is casually and commonly used, but in a strict Deadly Sins way, I dont think it is unreasonable to ask if they will base their vote on a candidate's morals and adherence to following the same Biblical world view as the poster.

Everyone values things differently when it comes to voting- appearance, speaking ability, historical actions, recent comments, position on a single topic or multiple issues, etc etc etc. I was just curious how someone with such a strong adherence to a Biblical world view manages to navigate this cycle's cesspool of options for President. I cant imagine it is easy.

This is far from true. Just watch the video of MSNBC with a focus group of independent voters. I don't think MSNBC is a partisan Trumpist network.

So you think Biden sniffing kids hair is NOT an indication something is wrong? I mean, for one, Ashley Biden never said her dairy wasn't accurate.

I mean at least he has pedo tendencies even if he doesn't act on them, except with his daughter.

On the contrary, it has changed my mind and shown me the follies of my ways.
I get the sarcasm but you cant deny it does disprove Boom Booms claim that only Trumpists think the economy isn't great, unless you think the MSNBC feed was faked.

And I guess it's the leftist tactic that if it's from a source you don't like just tear down the source.

You can want a lot of things you don't need. That's a fact, not my decision. If you want a bigger house, it's going to cost a lot more than you remember or think it should. A whole lot more than it did in the 2010's.

It costs a lot more to build a house today due to things that have nothing to do with inflation (35-40% more than 2007 just due to higher building standards.) And that's my before you factor in net zero standards which most of you have never heard of... But it's coming.**

1000013374.png

Add in the step up in manual labor and material costs, and it's brutal looking at the current and future costs of homebuilding. So consider it more of a warning, not a unilateral decision on my part.

I clicked on your linked video and it picked up 2/3 of the way thru with some guy ranting about how diaper brand are pro-abortion and immediately referenced Bud-Light and Disney.
That was just funny to me, for some reason.

So then I went back and the the focus group is finally mentioned 3 minutes in. The focus group moderator keeps a calm tone and when the focus group clip ends, the MSNBC show's host recaps by saying those are important and hard insights for the Biden campaign to hear.

Do you actually watch this youtube guy? His delivery is insufferable and the video's title is completely misleading.
- I didnt see anything in that video that would make me claim MSNBC is in a panic.
- I didnt see or hear anyone get cut off and didnt see where MSNBC tried to cut the feed.

Your take-away wasn't that millions of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, and that's not new with Biden? Or Trump? Because that was mine.

The part of interest is the MSNBC focus group. Yes, it's misleading, but the results of the focus group are completely contrary to Boom Booms claim.

I see that it is a common theme for leftists to tear down a source they don't like. Happens all the time with Fox News (which I don't watch). Now it's happening with a clip fthat guy referenced from MSNBC. What a world we live in.

Would you at least admit Boom.Boom was wrong, which was the point.

I hear what you're saying but your article was written by an employment agency 7 months after Trump took office. My article was in Forbes almost 3 1/2 years after Biden took office. Your article is more about the after effects of the Obama economy while mine is more about the effects of the current Biden economy.

Before this thread gets locked down, what in God's name is a Biblical World View?

Explain it to me like I'm a hardcore atheist who believes the universe is expanding, the earth revolves around the sun, is, at least 4 billion years old, and that religion, in all its forms, is used as an opiate for the people.

I wonder if large numbers of people lived paycheck-to-paycheck before 2017? Or, are you telling me it's a Democrat's fault when Democrats are in office and Democrat's fault when there's a gop president?
