Already, let's go ahead and get the obligatory "you're full of ****" out of the way.

I'm unable to find a gastro Dr willing to take me on. I had a guy and got nowhere, so after 5 years, I've tried to find some else and when they get my chart they tell me to find someone else, they can't help me. One said check with UAB or Tulane but couldn't refer me to anyone specifically. Any of you Aholes got any guidance? It's been frustrating.

*I anxiously await the responses*

Turned him down They're who said he needs to check with UAB/Tulane. He won't say it but he just about died a few years ago. I've been calling around for him and it's like anything short of basic nobody wants to even consider because they're all so busy with easy stuff.

The idea of dying isn't bad some days! LOL
Especially during football season.
I'm just wondering if anybody else has had problems like this and maybe knows of somebody good that's not just sending in their NP to piss me off. I've told them I'd like to start new.

Hate to hear that. I found this website. This just lists the gastroenterologists in MS.

I hope y'all find someone who'll take his case.

Having called several from Jackson to the coast, it's just been the same thing over and over. I've taken his old *** all over the place but I'm not familiar with process to get in with a university type specialist.

I’ll recommend highly Stephen Threadgill in Oxford. Don’t know the other physicians in that group. In limited interactions with him I have been very impressed with his knowledge and his concern for his patients.
I know one of the other physicians in the group, and he’s a nice guy

What doctor were you trying to seeing at GI Associates? Has there been a weight loss surgery in the past? I understand that is a common “complication” that some GI docs don’t want to get involved in.

There are some good doctors at GI, so if they are telling you to seek Tulane or UAB, then they must feel like whatever the issue is to severe for them. Supposedly, Dr. Vance at GI is an extremely smart and good dr. If that’s not who you were seeing, maybe try again with him.

I don't know your situation, but you may want to try for a referral to Johns Hopkins, Mayo or Cleveland. Google doctors at those hospitals that specialize in your condition, and try to find someone local to refer you to your preferred doc.

I use Dr. Goldberg in Greenwood and have been well pleased.
Didn't know you were from G'wood, I'm from Carrollton

Goldberg will put your gastro issues in a submission hold

Have you thought about coming up to try Vanderbilt? It’s a haul but people do it all the time plus it seems like you’re a special case and they love those.

Maybe your 6 Pack username is a red flag to them and scares them off, just a thought

MIL goes to HSV for anything medical and has nothing but good reports about the plethora of services to be had up there compared to central MS

That’s true and I thought about suggesting it last night.

DIL has sever Crones. I think that she’s been all over North Ms and Memphis to Drs. Went to Mayo and they have her at UAB. Both Drs are in contact but she doesn’t have to go to Minnesota anymore. Seems to be a good step in the right direction. Somewhat related, my wife has a complicated case of glaucoma. We had a good Dr in Memphis but he retired and after that we had trouble finding a Dr to take her on. She ended up at UAB and couldn’t be happier. It’s a teaching hospital and she’s a unique case so she gets a lot of attention. The Callahan Eye Center at UAB is second to none.

Alright, I'm working to get a referral to UAB. I've had somebody reach out to me (looked at the 6Pack do work!) so fingers crossed. That's going to be my best option, so trying that first. Oh, and no, I've had no surgeries.
This all just hit me back about 6 years ago. It's just suddenly gotten worse the last couple months. They initially said autoimmune but then said it's not, then said it "could be this or that" about a million times and I'm still sitting here getting worse. And now I'm pissed off too lol because that's almost 6 years of getting no where with a Dr I feel half-assed it after he couldn't figure it out and didn't just refer me somewhere else. It took me leaving to get that recommendation to to go UAB

If GI Associates told me to go to UAB, I’d get to UAB. They should have referred him to a specific Dr there though.
