I might have mentioned it before, but a year or two ago, I called in an order to Primo Hoagies. I tried ordering a two foot Italian sub, and the girl on the phone said "I'm sorry, the only sizes we carry are 6 inches, 9 inches, and 24 inches". I changed my order to a 24 inch Italian sub, and all was good.
If only we were on the metric system this would be a lay-up. šŸ˜

A buddy of mine noted that this may be the reason a lot of places as you if you want to "round up" your purchase....

My
Ok I am going to use this thread to state my position on something.....related to the subject matter....

I am not sure why that kid at Beaver Stadium felt he could simply say anything he wanted about Kelce's brother (I forget which one is which)......but he was looking for a reaction......and he got it. It was a visceral reaction. It was unfortunte the way it ended for him and who knows what the next step may be (kid files a lawsuit, who knows). I have no qualms with how Kelce handled it. Frankly, I would have done the same. You don't have a right to be verbally abusive, and you especially shouldn't be surprised when you get a visceral reaction.

I am sure there is a thread on this somewhere, but....I am using this thread to state my position.
My guess is that he wanted what happened to happen so he could get it recorded and maybe get some money out of Kelce - no other reason I can think of unless he was one of Taylors ex's :)

Statistically 16% of the population has an IQ of less than 85
I think I have that beat. I am feeling good about myself today.

When I hit 65, I had my first cognitive test at the doc office the nurse told me to draw a clock at the time 11:10. I told the nurse that most kids who use their cell phones as their clock couldnā€™t do it. I told her she prob needed a diff test.

I'm not one to advocate for violence, but there are times......

On a similar note, I am reminded of the time back in 2002 when conspiracy theorist Bart Sibrel pushed 72 year old Buzz Aldrin just a bit too far. Sibrel pressed charges but the judge threw the case out.

I went to a bar and asked what the happy hour special was. She said draft beers. I said how much. She said.
7 for 2. I was like wow. 7 beers for two bucks? She said no.

she meant 2 beers for 7 bucks. To this day my friends and I bring that upwhen we donā€™t understand something.

Unfortunately, I thought the same after reading the article.

I get that too, and I'm usually OK with it, unless it's really egregiously over. I get that they can't get it exactly right on the nose. Although, the gal at Publix did hit my 3/4 (or 0.75 if you prefer) right on the nose, the first time, last week. She was so proud of herself, she reminded me of these football players that want to celebrate after every successful play.

It's like when you were younger and only had ten dollars to put in your tank and forget that it's all you have and you panic as it climbs up to $10 and you let go of the handle and bam, it lands directly on $10. Happened to me once just like that when I was in college.

My wife told me the same, said our grandkids have no clue what quarter to 11 means.

Where I grew up, weā€™d say a quarter of eleven. First week of college I told my roommate that Iā€™d meet him at a quarter of six for supper. He paused, looked confused and asked why I wanted to eat supper at 1:30.

Basically 100% of Baltimore city kids are not proficient in reading or math
In western Tennessee, there is a bumper sticker that you can buy that says

"If you can read this, you probably did not go to public school in Arkansas."

Interesting. I have always loved maps for a variety of reasons, but with having GPS mostly, like you, to have a better perspective. My wife will say "why do you look at those, we have GPS". I remind her that GPS is sometimes flawed, and that I find it both interesting and occasionally quite beneficial to take a look at things ahead of time.

This conversation gets repeated every time we drive 50 miles or more (and she's just a few years younger than me).
I keep an atlas in my car.

Was her name Donna Cheng??
No. But, one time we went to a Chinese restaurant and the employees were jabbering in the background.

I asked her to translate what they were saying. She said (verbatim), "I have no fking idea what they are saying, I am proficient in Mandarin, Cantonese and several other dialects. I think they have been in America too long!"

True story: One of my ex-girlfriends was Chinese. Her father could do most basic math computations on an abacus faster than a person could do them on a calculator.
Our company's accountant in Japan actually used an abacus back in the 80s.

Had a better margin for error in those days. Could probably hold on for an extra second and stay right on the money. Now if you hold on for an extra second you have to get a second mortgage.

OK, one more. Ice cream stand in Florida. I ask the young lad for a small vanilla milkshake. He says, we don't have small, only medium and large. I inform him that the word medium implies a size between two other sizes, ergo a size between small and large. He just stares at me.I bang my head on the counter.

Was the young lad the owner? No reason to whine to him about it unless you just canā€™t help yourself.

I think that, in reality, he has no beef with either of the Kelces or Swift. I think he was trying to be funny for the people around him and it didnā€™t turn out the way he thought it would.
