shows in my book. I was aware growing up but never saw one episode or movie until last week and been binging like crazy when I have the time. I love the minute he locks on the Villain and he psychologically breaks them down.

Oh and one more thing,

Good show but I'd rather watch Mannix or Rockford beating the snot out of someone (while getting the snot beat out of them as well). Or even Magnum, or Cannon putting the choke hold or karate chop on someone.

The Jack Cassidy episode was great. I'll give you that.

I think it was documented that Joe Mannix was shot 17 times during the run of the show. I wonder if that's the record?

I agree. the show does a great job of Columbo breaking down the perp. What I love is the level of detail that irks Columbo to know that the easy story isn't correct. The one I recall is that a guy drugged some dude into having a heart attack and then dressed him up in workout clothing then put him under the bench press to make it look like he overdid it. What sunk the murderer is that, when you tie a shoe, one bow is higher than the other. But if you tie somebody else's shoe, the bow on the other side is higher.

The show kind of spawned all of these quirky detectives like Kojak, Jake and the Fatman, McCloud and Harry O.

My brother in law mentioned Mannix when I told him about my love for Columbo. I'll have to check it out this weekend.

Mike Connors (Mannix) played basketball for John Wooden at UCLA. Mannix is on MeTV every late night (week night) at 2AM followed by Cannon and Barnaby Jones.
