We drive through St. Joe almost every year on our way to Wyoming. Have stopped and spent the night there a couple of times. Based on our very limited experience they seem like good people. I don’t want to live in any large cities but of the ones I have visited or traveled through, Kansas City is top of the list. People seem nice however the traffic sucks like it does in all larger cities. We always go north from KC, through St. Joe, across the corner of Iowa, hang a left at Nebraska City, hang another left at Lincoln, and then just roll, until we hit Cheyenne. For anyone traveling that route on vacation, the real “Boot Hill” cemetery is a national monument and is located in Ogallala, NE. It’s worth a short stop and less than a mile from the interstate.St. Joe
