OT: Trail running/hiking shoes

Looking to add some trail running/hiking to my workout. Any recommendations for shoes?

For pure hiking, these are great, but for trail running, you will obviously want something low cut.

In general, La Sportiva, Solomon, Oboz are going to be pretty solid for outdoors. Merrell is ok if you’re on a budget, but my experience is they don’t last very long.

For trail running or hiking in Mississippi, you don’t need much more than a decent running shoe with just a little extra grip.

I have wide feet so I use Altra Olympus. They are zero drop which takes getting used to. Very cushioned which also takes getting used to. They feel like they wouldn't be stable but with I have hiked around 200 miles of the Appalachian Trail and counting with no issues with my ankles.
