Just arrived back home here in Archbold, Ohiya.
I will find a way to post pictures from my experience tonight. At 61 years old, I was like a little kid.
I’ll post more tomorrow , but I’ll say, I knew I was going to have fun evening when Aaron Brooks walks over to me, looks at my white Penn State t-shirt, says OH YEAH and fist bumps me.

Dadgum was that a great time!

Glad you had a good time. Brooks seems like a genuinely good, high character person. Cael seems to be able to find young men of high character.

From OhioLion above-sure shows you have a little kindness, nice gestures can change lives for the better. Sure hope all PSU coaches stress this. I remember years ago when David Taylor was a freshman I saw him leaving restroom at a tournament in Binghamton Ny. I had PSU clothes on and went over and said hello. He could not have been nicer. A minute or 2 of kindness can leave lasting good memories. Something for all PSU athletes to remember!!

To your point @psykim I was crowded out of my seat after the meet finished. Several wrestlers were signing head gear and singlets of young admirers and taking photos with many fans as well. That had to have gone on for 10-12 minutes after other wrestlers had went to locker room. RBY was the fan favorite.
RBY also sat in the first chair behind coaches for all matches following his. Seems like a class act.
After my fist bump with Brooks, Coach Casey comes up to me and asks how I managed to get my seat. He stood there and talked to me for a couple of minutes. Told him this was baby-to-back Friday nights. He thanked me for making the long drive. (Truth be known, it’s 5.5 for me to the Valley and only 2.5 to Columbus).
The “We Are” chant at the end was something I thought about doing. Glad the young man at the top led the charge. My buddy with me was surprised at the number of Penn State fans in attendance.
The Covelli Center is a nice facility. I would like to compare it to Rec Center, but never been there for an event.
Fan in front is calling for stalling as the os wrestler is on the edge of the mat. The PS wrestlers on the bench start barking back. Once the outcome was determined, the guy starts joking with PS guys. PS wrestlers were very good natured.
TV shows these guys as cut/chiseled. But, when standing next to me, it is a whole new level of muscular. Surprised that the only wrestler with height is Kirkvliet. And, that young man has tree trunk thighs - as we saw when he squated his opponent off the mat and tossed him.
I could write much more. Just an amazing evening.

Love it. The PSU wrestling singlets are every bit as iconic as the PSU football uniforms. You can watch for two seconds and know who it is. It seems like OSU wears a different singlet every time I see them.
I love the blue singlet with the white belt - but I may be a bigger fan if the White singlet with Blue belt. Those original black singlets and bright pink were pretty sharp too.

While I love our traditional uni's, the football kids seem to love to do something different once in a while so maybe we should too. I think you could keep the basic design but still tweak it a bit. Just no robes.

The ‘original’ Penn State singlet was not pink and black, as blue and white was adopted about twenty years before the wrestling program started. It was also royal blue and white, which is still the official colors of Penn State. Paterno switched from royal to navy in the late 60s and all the other sports eventually fell in line and navy became the official blue of Penn State athletics.

Love for Zain to wrestle and focus on Beau B and SVN especially the next 30 days. Bet they would show big time improvement. Have Nolf go with Alex and Cater S. Hopefully DT can go with Brooks and Dean. Setting up to be a great big ten tournament in Michigan. Can’t wait to watch it live along with National’s in Oklahoma. 🥇

It seems that you are expressing your preference for different colored singlets with different colored belts. You mentioned that you love the blue singlet with the white belt, but you might like the white singlet with a blue belt even more. Additionally, you mentioned that you think the original black singlets with bright pink accents were also visually appealing.

Haha yes man it definitely seems like OSU wears a different singlet every time when I also see them. And I am a big fan of wrestling singlets which is why I always love to talk about em. I have also hunted the best singlets

Does anybody find the resemblance of the Ohio State singlet to a leg garter on a wedding dress a little strange?

I forget the reason these uniforms were worn but this is what the singlets looked like when they were reintroduced a few years ago. Not sure if these colors matched the original but this was a fun look.

There you go, ruining a good story with the facts! 😉
I do believe I read that at some point the original colors were black and pink.
