I guess I'm the only one that thinks crying is soft. He should be pissed at his performance but crying.

A few things. He wasn’t bawling. Remember that he’s still just a kid (20?), is used to being very successful, and was thrust in front of a bunch of adults with cameras and mics and a barrage of questions right after a tough loss. He probably also feels that he should shoulder the blame as a competitor and the starting QB. This loss probably hurts even more because it occurred against his home state school and in front of his family. The kid had a tough day. Give him a break.

He is a man. I was in Khe Sanh at 18, I never cried. He lost a football game.

There was the famous Tim Tebow post game when he was emotional, but was also pissed and made a promise that the team kept. I'm not comfortable with this from Allar.

I see that. Tebow seemed to have a plan to a goal that he could still see and pursue. Allar just seemed defeated and unsure of the next step.

I think this (blaming players) will only get worst as the NIL thing keeps growing towards making college football, NFL Lite. They make money because of their ability to perform.

The point being in this case its not fair to beat up on a 20 year old kid who had a bad game and acted emotionally.

Ryan, Ryan , Ryan.....

Only you would post this.

Is your resume' on LinkedIn? Other than this website, you appear to be borderline unemployable.
That's probably true of most on these recruiting sights.

Is Cliffy gonna make the receivers get separation and make the correct blocks to spring the running backs? Face it, with this offense, even Clifford would struggle.
There was a Clifford on the field today. The next Clifford that beats OSU will be the first one to do so.

There in lies the problem. You never see Allar pull the ball back and try to keep the defenses honest. It is a lot easier to game plan as a D coordinator when you know Allar is not going to run.
Because Allar doesn’t have the skills for the system/talent at PSU. And this staff hasn’t been able to build around Allar.

The kid should portal if this continues through this season. Honestly. Why go Hack v2 and make everyone miserable?

Franklin’s hands are tied like they were with Hack. He’s afraid of looking like the HC who couldn’t win with the all-world recruit. Only he recruited this kid and is on the hook for development. He can’t cut and run.

I ask again, what’s your problem with Ryan?

I think it’s way too soon to jettison a kid after he flunks the first real test of his career. Coaching aside (and yes, coaching continues to be a big problem in HV), the good news (for him) is that he has another test coming up in a couple of weeks…a real chance to show growth if he’s as good as a lot of us think he is.

After that, if he does choose to leave via the portal to an offense that better suits his abilities, then how could any of us blame him? Franklin’s Penn State is where you go if you want to take the gimmick route to the NFL…not win big games.

The debate about crying aside, I like the fact that he is accountable and owned up to his performance. And I liked the fact that he cares. He is obviously in pain after the loss and I would rather that than a guy who seems like the L is no big deal.
