I personally don’t care if he laughs or cries, but I do know he looks hideous with that hair cut.

He was smoking his chicken.

The debate about crying aside, I like the fact that he is accountable and owned up to his performance. And I liked the fact that he cares. He is obviously in pain after the loss and I would rather that than a guy who seems like the L is no big deal.
I agree and now he needs to get pissed off!

If you are ready to get rid of Drew based on one game we should have got rid of Franklin a long time ago

Wow, great to see all the hard a@@es on this board that didn’t cry about anything when they were 19.
Probably had a solid breakfast of 8 penny nails washed down with some antifreeze this morning.

So, a 19-year old can get upset with his play in the biggest game of his college career and get emotional and that’s bad.
But grown a@@ adults can go on a message board unidentified and bash the shot out of him and that’s okay.
Yeah, okay. Got it. 🤦🏻‍♂️
And the doo bag that commented on his haircut. Seriously?
Jeez Louise.

Yes Allar had a bad day. I can't understand how PSU has 50 yards.rushing in the 1st qtr then -1 the rest of the game. This offense has no identity. Drives me crazy are you a rushing offense or a passing? They are successful this season doing one thing rushing to set up the passing game then come into this game and completely change their offense and throw it all on the back of Allar. I had a lot of hope for Yurcich but I have nothing but questions now. Defense was lights out and the offense totally ruined an incredible game by the defense

You have to understand something - BW Lion is one of the most reprehensible posters in this board’s history going back to the BWI days. Putting him on perpetual ‘ignore’ is the best thing you can do for your experience here. Yes, even better than taking any of Bob’s scone recommendations.

I won't be surprised if Allar "portals". If I were him I would.

He is so much better than what Franklin is offering in the form of NFL grooming.
You think Allar’s horrific performance yesterday was Franklin’s fault? Wow. I guess he’s responsible for global warming too huh? I will concede that the play calling didn’t help much but Allar was awful yesterday plain and simple. He was missing receivers on far too many occasions by 5 yards or more. He also wasn’t stepping into throws and feeling pressure that wasn’t that close. I am not giving up on Allar but he was just bad yesterday.

Because Allar doesn’t have the skills for the system/talent at PSU. And this staff hasn’t been able to build around Allar.

The kid should portal if this continues through this season. Honestly. Why go Hack v2 and make everyone miserable?

Franklin’s hands are tied like they were with Hack. He’s afraid of looking like the HC who couldn’t win with the all-world recruit. Only he recruited this kid and is on the hook for development. He can’t cut and run.
Wow all this after one loss in the kid’s 7th start.

I agree- but I'm actually pretty close to giving up on him. He was missing open receivers before yesterday.

I think too that he feels he let many people down, most of all his teammates. Seems he puts a lot of pressure on himself. He's gotta put this behind him and try to move on.
Yeah go win out and let the chips fall where they may.

The real concern was the team lost again to OSU. I am not comfortable with the QB crying after the loss. Period.
Yeah you should probably get some help if a 19 year old kid who sniffles during a presser because he’s put his heart and soul into a team that loses a game against one of the best teams in the country makes you uncomfortable.

You may be soul-less.

It’s not about yesterday. It’s about the past several games and what appears to be a steady downward comfort and performance level.

Would you argue that Franklin offenses have been much better with a mobile QB? It’s just recognizing the facts and strengths of this staff and program.

See how the season plays out. But it’s best for everyone to move on if it continues not to work. I want Allar to have the best shot to succeed too.

Thank you Dr. Freud
You are welcome.
Do you have a take on this?
I might be completely wrong with my thoughts. I just remember Tebow coming out and saying "I promise I will..." and I saw Allar saying "I sucked..." One appeared to have a vision and one did not.
I don't have a problem with Allar, or anyone else, crying nor would I feel better if he was pissed off and yelling. I would rather he had a plan to get better. And he might, but it was not apparent to me in that interview.
The way one expresses their emotions is not as important to me as what they do after the immediate reaction to achieve their goals.

It’s called a growth mindset. Look at Jalen Hurts for a really great example. That guy’s been on a roller coaster in his young career and continued to work and improve.

When was the last time you saw a QB cry after a game they lost, or won for that matter? Very uncomfortable that the QB of the football team that had such high aspirations this season was crying. Very uncomfortable. I guess in 2023 I may be looked at by some as without soul for preferring to see the QB man up. So be it.

There in lies the problem. You never see Allar pull the ball back and try to keep the defenses honest. It is a lot easier to game plan as a D coordinator when you know Allar is not going to run.
fully agree, this is one of the largest issues on the offensive plan. This goes back even before JF was coach. Derrick Williams and Justin King were talking how they were 2-2 v OSU. The two that they won the QB was MRob and DC. The two losses were when Anthony was QB. AM had the bigger arm over either, but the other two were run threats..... not run first but a threat. DC was actually a good passer on top of his run threat = BIG POY. DEF now has to play different style if QB is threat to take off. This is the main reason that UMich has suddenly gotten better. JJ is pass first, but is a major threat to get away and grab a 3rd down conversion. As long as Drew is not showing a run threat, we will keep seeing the same DEF scheme.
The reason that we are seeing some fans calling for Beau is that he is a runner and play maker type. I doubt if he has the arm strength or even accuracy of Drew, but his run threat causes changes in the DEF. Currently, we have only seen that in mop up, so hard to tell impact. It would be interesting to see a few series early with Beau and the 1st team OFF. On the other hand, Drew ran the ball in HS and was reported to have 4.7 speed. why not run?

Max Duggan of TCU last year…Bryce Young two years ago. Derek Carr in the NFL. There are tons of them…apparently you don’t watch much football.

Some of you guys are absolutely ridiculous. I’ve seen NFL players cry after a loss. I’m quite certain none of you “tough guys”, even Mr. Vietnam Guy, would have the balls to say something to their faces.

These are the same tools who who rip the kid if he said - it's just a game so let's move on - you can't win with some people.

Uncomfortable to who? You?
I'm sure your comfort level is less important to Allar and the rest of the team as their emotions are to you.

How about the ol’ tried and true tactic of firing the OC after embarrassing losses?
