Let's get this going! Please save the private school comments until Cumberland Valley. Yes, can you believe this is the new home of the PIAA Championship games? As Sam Kinison used to say, "it's not about cash, is it?"

A few upsets in District One tonight.

#14 North Penn 22 #3 Pennsbury 21
Pennsbury beat NP 44-34 two weeks ago. Dick Beck goes for 2 with a minute left and gets the win.

#12 Downingtown East31 #5 Coatesville 15
Coatesville beat DTE 14-10 two weeks ago

#11 Central Bucks West 43 #6 Central Bucks East 26. Last week West beat East 21-14

Next week we get an old rival game with North Penn at Central Bucks West. Reminds me of the late 90's when Pettine Sr would battle Pettine Jr.

Correct, all the games were moved up a day in anticipation of the storm tomorrow. I'm surprised most of these games weren't pushed back to Saturday. This had to disrupt a normal week of practice for some schools playing tonight.

I think most of the schools scheduled for Friday would rather play on Thursday with a stable field than waiting for the unknown on Saturday. At this round of the playoffs they typically play on home fields, many of which probably aren’t designed for drainage like the more affluent neutral fields used in later rounds.

Berwick High School game against Crestwood scheduled for Saturday at 1:00 PM at Crestwood's field.

Many of the games were played on turf last night, so the conditions will be the same on either day. Tomorrow's weather looks ok.

wow. It was quite cold Friday night, and also pretty windy. Kind of hard to believe that two teams combined for 107 points in those conditions.

Good luck to your son. I was at the McDevitt game tonight, big night for Rico Scott, a long TD run and a TD catch, Afrer a slow start to the season he had a strong second half, I believe he went over 1000 yards receiving tonight.
To beat McD a team will have to run the ball successfully to shorten the game. A windy night would also help. Aliquippa beat McD last year by pounding the ball on the ground. I will expect the same this year until I see otherwise.

Should Crestwood get there, power running is all they do. They have a large, strong O-line & just wear people down. They average about 4-5 passes a game. Hope we get a shot.

Wow, that would be an interesting matchup, I like games with those contrasting styles. Hope you guys can get the W tomorrow.
