Where is this reported? If kids are turning us down when we offer same or more money wise(which has been reported) then other problems are driving kids away. It’s not that complex.

This may be true, but comparing Skeens to 99% of college football players isn't comparable in anyway.Offered Paul Skenes more than LSU offered, too
I’m trying to figure that out too. Having plenty of money for NIL in the era of free agency and not being able to sign players, does not add up. Simplest explanation would be we have some nil money shortages.Where is this reported?
Hmmm.... Tucson and Tempe vs. Starkville. Yeah I can see how that would be a tough decision all things being equal. Hell, Fayetteville, vs. Starkville. Even Nashville vs Starkville! Come on! If a 20 year old is offered $150000 to go to Nashville or a $200000 to go to Starkville, you have to know what they are choosing. Same with Fayetteville, Auburn, Columbia, Lexington, Baton Rouge, Columbia Mo., Baton Rouge, College Station, Knoxville, Austin, Etc....Arizona under Fish loaded up in the portal, Arizona State loaded up in the portal. Arkansas was bad last year and they loaded up in the portal. Lots of bad teams not having a problem getting good players.
do you really believe nobody in the portal is willing to be paid top dollar to come play here ? How did we ever sign players in the past ?Hmmm.... Tucson and Tempe vs. Starkville. You have made this statement multiple times. Spill the beans if you have factual knowledge. And if so which coaches can't recruit ?? Turner ? You said they don't call , follow up, etcIt isn’t though. When players are committing to other places on less money than what State is offering that’s not an NIL problem.
They're taking the extra $50k, there's no way you're this dumb.Hmmm.... Tucson and Tempe vs. Starkville. Yeah I can see how that would be a tough decision all things being equal. That's not happening. We just have a bunch of fans who hate our program and want us to fail. No one on this boards know the particulars of any deals nor the NIL war chest of any program.Well no doubt there are more factors at play than simply money. Playing time and chances to make the next level are big. Winning and TV exposure. Plus no doubt some kids have geographical preferences. Buuuut....still money is the biggest draw. If we are offering 50k more and losing a kid to Arkansas there is a big problem
My problem isn’t so much with our NIL bankroll as it with the people in charge of closing the deals. We saw multiple defensive portal recruits visit Starkville and commit elsewhere a day later. We were left with a bunch of P4 players who couldn’t get on the field in lesser conferences. And the kids we were on initially ended up at places like Kansas and Purdue and Pitt. That's not happening. I doubt we’re throwing much money at it either. Next year is a lost cause. Nobody good is going to want to play for these defensive coaches if they have other options.Because they’re doing a better job of recruiting. You can’t just throw money and that be it. I don’t understand why this is so hard to grasp.
Where did the very good RB for Arizona State play last year? Was it Sacramento State???We've already got indications how portal recruiting will go when we offer one of the very first CB's to go into the portal - Kennesaw State's Jayven Williams.
A.) Kennesaw State is barely an FBS program. Why the hell are we targeting any of their players?
B.) Why the hell are we handing out offers to any portal players this early, especially one who isn't even a top C-USA player (like Kelly A. was last year)?
C.) Why should we trust the evaluation of any of the current defensive coaches? The best transfer we had on that side of the ball *literally* grew up a Bulldog fan, otherwise we don't get him.
Our defensive recruiting under this staff is indistinguishable from a Sunbelt team. We could have $50 million to hand out if NIL money and we'd still end up with a bunch of G5 nobodies and P4 has-beens.

Did you notice Toledo had better talent than State? State best Eastern Kentucky, an FCS team, and UMass who got pummeled by every SEC team they played. In 2 years, 2 different coordinators were hired to replace the only Former Sitting HC State has hired in over 60 years and proceeded to completely tear the program to the ground. Go back and check the last time State only won 2 games in a season and went 0-8 in the SEC. Most of y'all were in diapers or still a twinkle in your dad's eye. Go back to the last time State hired a Sitting HC before Leach. Most of your parents were in diapers or kindergarten!do you really believe nobody in the portal is willing to be paid top dollar to come play here ? How did we ever sign players in the past ?
I would suggest hiring a recruiting hypnotist to complement our recruiting strategy. We've already got indications how portal recruiting will go when we offer one of the very first CB's to go into the portal - Kennesaw State's Jayven Williams.

No matter what some on this site are telling us, there's no question NIL is a problem
I have no idea if it is or is not. Just taking this opportunity to remind everyone we have a fundraiser where 10% of money raised goes to NIL. And it appears we have may have lost a camera last night to a lightning strike so that will be an unexpected expense, if so.It isn’t though. When players are committing to other places on less money than what State is offering that’s not an NIL problem.
1) It's not. At least, not anywhere other than message boards and/or beat writer articles. There have been 3-4 examples from the last couple years where we were rumored to have offered more than the other team, and as usual, people are taking the exceptions to paint the picture that it's an MSU pandemicWhere is this reported?
I just don't understand why our fans automatically believe anything negative about out program, then happy spread those rumors that have no basis in reality.1) It's not. 2) Can anyone find how much NIL Paul Skenes got at LSU? Maybe it's out there, but I just spent 5 minutes googling, and about the only thing I could find was his On3 "value" and an article where he donated $2k to a charity. My point is that if NIL still isn't public knowledge, and there are zero rules when it comes to reporting it, how in the world can anyone definitively know how our offer compares to another? Then, even if someone did somehow have inside knowledge, would it be possible that a competitor actually ups their offer after a kid received one from us?
I've got no problem with the argument that our coaches' inability to recruit is part of the problem. It's just that if they somehow suck at this area of their job too, either our NIL has to be enough to overcome that or else we need some new coaches, and apparently we're not going to rectify either situation in the offseason
Many long years of experience being a Mississippi State fan.I just don't understand why our fans automatically believe anything negative about out program,
I mean would you want to play for team that went 2-10 and got smacked by Toledo and didn't have a prayer in any sec and play for guys you never heard of? I want to win and get drafted if I'm a recruit. If I'm a young defensive recruit I'm not going to play for that defensive staff. Not sure I would have faith in Lebby as a parent either that I would entrust my son with him to develop him. I had hoped for Lebby but we have shown zero improvement this season. Offense averaging a bout 20 defensively giving up 40 plus a game. This is what happens when you hire inexperienced staff all around. On top of just doing that last yearIt isn’t though. When players are committing to other places on less money than what State is offering that’s not an NIL problem.
