133: RBY vs. Dylan Ragusin (DR)

Per 1
Ragusin looks a lot bigger. Ragusin tries an ankle pick, nothing. On the edge, and they read and sort of go back to the center. Stalemate with 1:40 left. RBY with a spin-around move but blocked by DR. DR tries a high crotch, RBY counters and gets the TD at the edge, 2-0. OOB with 50 sec left. Slick move by RBY. A challenge by Michigan. That's baffling. Ah, he did step out, so this may get overturned. Call is confirmed. Hmm. DR is up, and back to a 4-pt stance. DR working hard, but RBY staying with him. End RT @ 52 sec for RBY

Per 2
RBY takes bottom. RBY works up slowly, back down, up again, and down again. He's to a 4-pt stance, then up, and out with 1:14 left, 3-0. Stalemate with 47 sec left. DR working a 2-on-1, nothing. End. RT @ 8 sec for RBY

Per 3
DR takes bottom. Dr works up, back down. RBYU working out on the right side, then throws in a boot, then takes it out. He tilts hm and gets swipes -- 4 NF makes it 7-0. PD stoppage with 1:01 left. RT is up to 1:07. RBY tilts off a return, but not NF. Another tilt, and RBY loses him and gets an esc, 7-1. RBY shoots just before the whistle, they are going to official review. It's really close. No TD, so with the RT it's an 8-1 DEC

3-3, tie

141: Nick Lee vs. Drew Mattin (DM)

Per 1
Lee on a head inside single, works on the edge and gets the TD just before they go OOB with 2:29 left, 2-0. Lee cuts him, 2-1. Lee has another head inside single, shelfs it, gets behind and gets the TD, 4-1. OOB with 1:04 left. DM active and he's out, 4-2. Lee tries another single, nothing. Lee reaches for a knee, nothing. DM shoots, blocked, then Lee with a head outside single, swings behind and gets the TD, 6-2. End. RT @ 1:30 for Lee

Per 2
Lee takes bottom. He works up, brought back down, and gets a reversal, 8-2 (DM didn't control him during the return). Lee basically cuts him, 8-3. Lee reaches, then back win on a head inside single and gets the TD, 10-3. Lee working a tilt, but nothing develops from it. Now he works a 2-on-1, tilts him, and gets swipes, 14-3. RT @ 2:42 for Lee

Per 3
DM takes bottom. Lee cuts him, 14-4. DM shoots, Lee nearly locks a cradle but just gets the TD, 16-4. They go OOB with 1:24 left. Neutral start, 16-5. Lee with a quick shot and the TD, 18-5. He tried to get a cradle, but ends up cutting him, 18-6. DM with a sloppy shot and Lee spins behind for the TD, 20-6. Stall warning on DM makes it 21-6 makes it a TF @ 6:36

Shunk, Negron, Edsell, Ball, and Nevills all traveled, per Byers, in addition to the 10 starters.

149: Beau Bartlett vs. Cole Mattin.

Per 1
Beau with a quick TD, has him on the back, and now a stoppage for injury on the leg to Mattin. it got locked underneath him. That was ugly. He can't put any weight on it. Injury default at 13 sec.

Heck of a move by Bartlett but man that looked back for Martin. Hope he's ok but the backside BTN angle showed he knew immediately how bad whatever was wrong was.

157: Terrell Barrclough (TB) vs. Will Lewan (WL)

Per 1
TB with a shot, blocked, and somewhat stuffed. Stalemate with 2:24 left. Another stalemate with 1:52 left. TB shoots, WL sprawls, they spin around, nothing. TB shoots, WL sprawls, they spin again along the edge, nothing. End

Per 2
WL takes bottom. He sits out and gets the esc in 4-5 sec, 0-1. TB shoots, blocked. WL in on a low single, TB tries to scramble, and WL gets the TD, 0-3. TB to his feet but the buzzer sounds. End

Per 3
TB takes bottom. NHe works up, and is out in 8 sec, 1-3. TB in on a low single, WL is able to get the leg out, nothing. Best shot by Bearclaw. He shoots, blocked, and they are OOB with 1:08 left. TB shoots, WL sprawls then tries to spin behind, then gets a single, TB with a whizzer, they are on the edge, and WL gets the TD and they go OOB with 18 sec, 1-5. Caution on WL (he never put his hand on the elbow). TB up quickly, and he's out, 2-5. TB shoots, WL sprawls. TB shoots again, nothing., END. 2-5 DEC for Will Lewan

Like Gibbons says (who knows helluva lot more than me), what our guys do so well (and that Bearclaw didn’t do) is create angles and opportunities with footwork, snaps. As always, easier said than done.

Luke Gardner is back now. So he will probably be best option moving forward at 157. Should be interesting.

Claw took some committed shots and looked better than earlier in the year (glass half full).

Yeah, but most of his shots were either out of collar ties where Lewan could block him/sprawl, or where Lewan had control of one of his hands. His only decent shot was early in the 3rd period, where he had the low single, but Lewan kind of sprawled and was able to kick free the leg.

I don't think we're scoring any points at '57 in March (don't think we need them). Hoping to see whoever is out there compete and improve.

165: Brady Berge vs. Cameron Amine

Probably the match that I was the least confident in when making my KYPSW pick.

Per 1
Berge tries a low single, Amine tries a counter, nothing. Eye poke on Amine, and a stoppage. Amine with a lazy reach, nothing. A lot of collar ties. Berge with an ankle pick for the TD, 2-0. Sweet move. Amine to his feet, returned. Amine to a 3-pt stance, back to his knees. Amine to his feet, to a 4-pt, and OOB with 4 sec left. End. RT @ 50 for Berge

Per 2
Amine takes bottom, and he's out in 6 sec, 2-1. Berge with a lazy shot out of a collar tie, stuffed. End. RT @ 56 sec for Berge

Per 3
Berge takes bottom. He works up, returned. Bounces back up, and he's out in 21 sec, 3-1. Shot by Amine, blocked. 1 min left. RT not a factor. Both of them have shot, but not close to anything. Berge with a reach to a single, nothing. Amine tried a counter, nothing. 20 sec left. Amine shoots, nothing. End. 3-1 DEC for Berge

174: CStar vs. Logan Massa (he's still in college?)

Per 1
CStar on a counter to a single, and a TD as they go OOB with 1:49 left, 2-0. Massa is a 7th year senior. Mass is out quickly, 2-1. Stalemate with 58 sec left. CStar tries to spin around but they go OOB with 25 sec left. Stall warning on Massa. CStar in on a single, Massa with a whizzer on the edge, and the buzzer sounds. End. RT @ 10 sec for CStar

Per 2
CStar takes bottom. He slowly works up, and is out in 13 sec, 3-1. Massa in on a single, CStar scrambles, and stoppage for PD with 1:10 left. Nice D by CStar, and he came close to working it to a TD before the stoppage. Massa with a lazy double, stuffed, CStar working undercooks, and a stalemate with 18 sec left. End. RT @ 4 sec for Massa

Per 3
Massa up quickly, and cut, 3-2. Then CSar with a quick TD and they are OOB with 1:41 left, 5-2. Massa seems baffled, and Michigan throws the brick. Hmm, it's an official review. Replay shows it was called correctly, IMHO. The refs wave off the esc and the subsequent TD. It's close. Anyway, it's 3-1. Massa to his feet, and he's out, 3-2. RT @ 27 sec for CStar, so it's not a factor. Massa tries a shot on the edge, nothing. Massa with a sloppy shot, Massa works to a body lock, but they go OOB. CStar in on a double, they scramble, and there is the buzzer. A 3-2 DEC for CStar
