The BWICAC insisted that Drew Allar should be named the starting QB "before " he stepped on campus. Their voices were like a steady drumbeat all season...Clifford is in the way....they even booed Clifford, and mocked his 6th year status and age. Now after 10 games, winning 8....the football message board geniuses are ready to give up on Allar. Well laugh out loud. Why am I not surprised?
We win if I start.

I want to see a number of things, so I'd start Beau.
Who said anything about "giving up" on Allar?

Starting Beau if Allar is healthy could easily be construed as giving up on him. As a former player and especially as a coach, I love guys like Pribula. But, he doesn't take you any further than Trace...and I don't know yet if his arm is comparable. Allar is still learning and growing into the position. If he's healthy, he's the lead dog. Beau is a fine backup...a change of pace...a weapon. Not at this point the guy. Patience is a virtue. Coaches have it, fans never did,nor will.

I think its that one interception vs. only 21 TDs that really has fans, cough bettors, cough PSU fans on here rankled.

If Drew is healthy, he plays.

And upon further reflection, this is probably the right call. At least if/until the game has been decided. Beau will get plenty of reps during bowl prep and he's going to have to pass in a game at some point. I just think for the kind of offense Franklin wants to run Drew's skillset is a mismatch.

I'm not generally a fan of rotating QBs, and I suggest this because it will likely be the last chance to see what Beau has got- the portal awaits otherwise. Is Drew the better "NFL prototype"? Yeah- although that prototype is changing, and we're not in the NFL anyway.

In the brief chance Beau has had, the offense looked better, imo. I just would like to see what he's got.

Beau isn't leaving. Not this year anyway. The original plan was for Drew to leave Bo the job for possibly 2 years after next season. If Allar stays an x tra year or PSU recruits a 5 star over him, of course that could change. I think he's true Blue fir one more year. Allar would be more likely IMO, to leave seeking QB whisperer and better targets.
