What are you talking about? Without Rattler we don’t beat ucheat or the Clemens. He played great in both games.Losing Atkinson‘s protection hampered Rattler and the passing game yesterday plus virtually no run game. If we didn’t need Carroll yesterday, do we ever need him??.

Carroll was injured and not dressed….not sure what you’re referencing.he was redshirted and has 3 years left. Let’s give him a chance before we judge him.

Good grief. I guess you want to go back to the Luke Doty Glory days?
Who? Easy now FC... I'd settle for a Blake Mitchell or Stephen Garcia at this point. Rattler honestly gets rattled at the slightest hint of pressure and he refuses to use his feet to make defenses pay because he's clearly scared of getting injured. If he'd use his feet like Shaw did, he'd be incredible. I watched him the whole season just like you did. I saw zero progress in his game. All defenses have to do is show him the slightest pressure and 99% of the time it's bad news for us.

I appreciate that he's a "good kid" that isn't a Johnny Football type, he keeps his nose clean, etc...... but, yeah, I'm ready for a change at QB. Rattler ain't it. JMHO of course. I'd be happy if he comes back and gets better and makes me eat my words but I don't see that happening. We're gonna start next season with a new OC, may as well start with a new QB as well. Back to square 1 as they say.

We could help him out by providing a more Consistent Running Game, which we didn't have.
100% agree. It would help take the pressure off of him, but it wouldn't take the scared out of him when he does face some heat. That's my knock on him. He's a good kid, keeps his nose clean, etc, but he clearly plays scared and it shows. He's the opposite of Shaw. Shaw wasn't exactly Dan Marino back there throwing it all over the place, and he didn't have an incredible arm. Rattler does have the arm. No question. Shaw made up for that weakness by tucking it and running forwards and getting first downs. Rattler refuses to learn that skill. The few times he did take off and run he seemed to have zero awareness of where the first down marker was. He did it just yesterday. He ran forward but slid a good 3 yards short of the 1st down when all he had to do was put his head down and drive / or even dive forward and he would have had it. It's like he has no awareness of what the situation is.

Listen, if he leaves, fine. If he comes back and corrects these mistakes and makes me eat my words, I'd be ecstatic. I just don't see it happening. The announcers, the fans, etc are all saying he's making the exact same mistakes he made at Oklahoma. It is what it is. Shrugs.

Too bad cause we sure could have used him or a real power back last night. Did not realize he is still injured though did not think last night counted against rs.
