Stop the madness!! Enough is enough. Mario looked like the best back against Furman, and looked like the best back against UGA. Every game left of the schedule is winnable, but only if we play our best players. I hope this is not a loyalty to DK deal. Mario deserves a chance to shoulder the load.

I can only think the staff wanted DK because of blocking and/or catching a ball.

We're going to see more of Mario. I didn't see Juju at all. That's a sign of what they're thinking.

DK should be on the field, maybe as a FB or or something else. Catching out of the backfield. Put him as a wildcat but throw the ball. Going to have to break the glass on Mario

It doesn't make sense to me to completely sacrifice the run game for a back who is better at blocking. I dunno. Either way, I guess you're not winning many games.
It does when you know we can't really run either way, and it's evident we have to throw to win.... It's not like anyone was racking up yards against them on the ground....

We are obviously going to be a pass-heavy offense. There's no doubt about that. But if other teams know that you cannot run the ball and aren't even going to try to run the ball, you're doomed.

I'd sacrifice a little blocking if it meant a little more production.

Mario only got 2 carries. Latt’s freshman year our OL wasn’t great. But he made them look better bc he hit the hole without hesitation and churned through it. Mario is the only guy that gives us that. We simply can’t afford to keep churning out 30 yards per game…which is exactly what we’ll get from DK.

Under 100 yards a game rushing would probably take a bowl bid off the table most years. Much under that will keep us home for the holidays this year. Again, our hope rests with the unexpected vulnerability of our opponents.

A decent running game is too important to not be the primary focus of our coaching staff.
Not only does it help our offense but also keeps our tired defense off the field for some rest.

This is where coaching comes into play. Not a knock on Kirby or Saban in the slightest, but it's comparatively to coach up a roster full of 5* players.

Where Beamer is gonna have to earn his money here is figuring out how to get 3* guys to play like 4* guys and 4* guys to play like 5* guys.

With how well Rattler is playing, we don't need an all-world run game. We just need to be ok-ish. It's up to the coaches to figure out a way...any way...to get some kind of patchwork run game together.

Agree completely. Something innovative or even gimmicky if it is a distraction to an all-out pass rush, that's all we need.

Did Anderson get hurt? He had some string runs in the first half, but don’t recall seeing him in the second half.

This is one of those moments where everyone and their mothers can see what needs to happen but it doesn’t until well beyond the time it should have happened. it’s not a matter of if but when he takes over RB1 because it’s extremely obvious to everyone except the coaching staff for some reason.

Slot receiver can help with blocking just as well -- that would make far more sense than staying a 0-3 yard per carry RB.

Thankfully few, if any other, teams have UGAs front 7. Think we will find a bit more success from here on out.

It sucked against FU as a whole. I don’t think Mario would make us a dominant running team. But I think he would help enough to keep Ds honest. DK can’t make guys miss or break tackles. Not a good compliment to an OL that can’t run block.
Thankfully it appears that Tree and Baugh will get more playing time. As they develop and get more experience, that should help also. I liked the way Anderson ran the ball.

Then make him an H back with Mario back there. He’s a liability in the running game.
He’s not a liability, but he’s not a game breaker either. We can and should use him in multiple places, with the running back being one of them. But Mario should get the main share of snaps now. The offensive line not opening running holes is the biggest detriment to DK success. Anderson has a little more experience and can probably see things DK can‘t at this point.
